Borat

Postby beatschool » Mon Nov 06, 2006 8:58 am

Did anyone else see "Borat" this weekend? The man has some serious balls with some of the shit he pulls. The national anthem at the rodeo had me squirming in my seat. Sasha Baron Cohen is insane in how he can pull this and Ali G off without breaking character.

Here he is on The Daily Show 11/2/06
The best part is from 4:46 to the end (Sacha Baron Cohen who plays Borat is jewish, as well as Jon Stewart, which makes it that much funnier)

Yes! Big fan! But I was embarassed for several parents who thought it was a good idea to bring their kids to the movie. I'm no prude, but I wouldn't let a 12-13yo see this film.

BY FAR the funniest thing on film in the last 20 years. Nobody is better than BORAT.

Borat rules.
I just hope he doesn't go the way of Yakov Shmirnov.

I don't think that's possible since Yakov was never funny.

That's true beatschool.
Didn't Yakov have a saying that he always said. I remember I got tired of hearing it.

It was a genuinely funny movie.

I like how he was able to rattle off a song(with clicking noises) when asked what his favorite music was.

<p align="justify">Maybe his comedy has fallen victim to the hype it gets, but, to me, Borat is unfunny - almost as bad as Yakov. Meh. Big shrug to all that.

I think his is the kind of humor that's funny, even hilarious in small doses, but the more I see, the less amused I am. However, being in the company of some "accidental" comedic geniuses here may have spoiled me for Borat's exploits.
