Hoping To Find Sisters of Mercy

Postby Nacho999 » Sun Nov 05, 2006 9:27 am

A copy of The Sisters of Mercy's cover of Sympathy For The Devil. It may not be the Sisters of Mercy, but that is what the file is most commonly known as. All the ones that I have seen are cut off at the 4:33 mark and the version is good whomever it is. If anybody can help thanks in advance.

I have a promo 12" single by a band called The Medicine Factory where Sympathy For The devil is covered. It's goth, but the singer doesn't sound like Andrew Eldritch.

Hi and thank you everyone who responded. I really appreciate it. I found that old Kentucky Blog during my search and I keep getting a message saying the site has reached its transfer limit and please check tomorrow. The Tiamat version is deinitely not right. Maybe one you can help me identify this artist? I'm almost certain it's not Sisters of Mercy as nice a job as they did on Gimmie Shelter, but a lot of people are under the impression that this is them. Maybe the song actually ends like this, but I seriously doubt it. I'm in a minor quandry. Anyone who can help would be very greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

No clue, its not The Medicine Factory record I have.

It definitely has that early 90's Wax Trax/Play It Again Sam sound. Maybe Mussolini Headkick?

I am pretty certain that this is the Electric Hellfire Club from the Vampire Themes Album of Various Goth songs from Cleopatra Records. Their version is 5:01 though.

I posed this to a friend of mine, here's his take:

It sounds like about mid nineties though. Sounds a
little like it could be Genetorturers, Hansyl and Gretel or maybe even
Nina Hagen, although she would embellish it a bit more.

I've got your version Nacho and, ya, mine cuts off at 4:33.

I've also got a version by Skrew off the "shut up kitty" cd that an industrial cover songs cd about 15 years ago.
