Well, on that glorious day when we achieve your level of cerebral enlightenment, the world will be a better place. Until then, you're in no position to squawk. Take what's dealt to you.

You know, coming back here with a condescending attitude just means there will be more jockeying for position in the "Kick kimiiii's ass" line. Smart move.

Maybe YOU'LL get it sooner than later.

Kimiii,

Being the newest kid on the NWO block and the newest mod, perhaps I may address your concerns with the least perception of bias--of course there is little I can do to change any pre-conceived notions you may have.

The bottom line from the mods' perspective was that information concerning the possible private venture of a NWO member was being made public--without his consent. Questions concerning this possible venture could have been addressed to the member in question using private email, but this was not done. Thus, in an attempt to avoid any risk this member may incur, it was decided by the mods to delete several posts referring to it. This was not done arbitrarily as the member in question had asked to keep this information private. To me this would be no different than if a member posted the private address and phone number of another NWO member without their consent. It would be the duty of mods to protect the private information of the latter member.

It was thought that perhaps members in the thread in question could contact Tiger privately with any questions they may have concerning this subject. Instead, the thread in question has spiraled into a list of accusations and fruitless speculation.

Nerolance, You and others have questioned the integrity or honesty of the mods here, and I feel that deserves a reply. Being a relative dolt when it comes to the internet, all I can do is speak from my own experience since I have been at NWO and a mod. I have learned that being a mod is a classic "no-win" kind of job--people are upset with you either for perceived errors of omission ("why did you allow that post..") or commission ("Why did you delete/edit that post...") and in the end someone always seems to be dissatisfied with the job you are doing. As a mod I (and I'm sure the others) try to preserve the spirit of what makes the NWO a special place. This means taking into account what I feel compromises the best parts of this board, while allowing as much free expression as possible. When posters--especially long time vets--feel uncomfortable, or at risk for posting, it is the mods job to "clear the way" just enough to keep a free exchange of ideas going on, but remove the perceived barriers the keeps others from posting.

Many would ask, then why be a mod? I accepted MikeP's gracious offer for two reasons--1-I was honored to be considered for the post (I have nothing be sincere admiration for what he has accomplished here, and that same admiration applies to many of the NW gurus here) and 2-I wanted to do my part to keep this repository for NW alive and vibrant as I could--I felt I owed MikeP and the others here that, at least.

The mods here are certainly not perfect (well, I won't speak for the others, but I am certainly not). I'm sure from a 20,000 foot view we make mistakes. But at all times the others and I do my best to keep the NWO a friendly, active site. That is always our intention and our guiding principle. If you truly believe that we became mods to garner a sense of power and impose solely our will on the membership here, all I can say is--you are wrong as you can be. As special a place as this is, the NWO is, in the end, just a message board. My "non-virtual" life is still vastly more important, and my sense of self-being and accomplishment will always stem primarily from there.

You have called the mods cowards for not contacting you. The reverse accusation could be made. I don't believe any of the mods received a communication from you or nerolance regarding the situation. To quote a cliché, communication is a two way street. If you are to take the mods to task for not informing you better--that same standard should apply to you.

In the end this is MikeP's board--should he decide to remove me from my duties, I will graciously step down and thank him for the wonderful place he has created. Until then I will help moderate this board the best I can. Succeed or fail, it will always be with an eye to keeping NWO a "good" place to be.

Should you wish to discuss this further, may I suggest you take your own advice to contact me privately? My email is easy to find. Thank you.

I wonder in personal life, are people this unforgiving, this intolerant, this hostile, this aggressively out for cutting someone's throat, when they don;t like or agree with what happened?? Damn, NWO is just loaded with people who are perfect. God forbid anyone mess up, they become fucking lepers.

Shit, if I was cast off by friends, even just other people, for things they did not agree with, I'd no longer be on the planet. Thankfully, I guess in real life I at least know people who will offer a forgiving hand, rather than choose to harbor hatred and animosity to someone. Jesus, no one died, and honestly, in personal life, whatever wwnet down, are your lives that fucking harmed or changed or traumatically causing you therapy???

You might as well cast me out, because this shit is simply ridiculous. No amount of music sharing is worth such hateful, spiteful attitudes towward anyone.

I am not perfect, far from it in every possible way, but I don't care, no one deserves such anomosity except from pack dog mentality. Mods, feel free to ban me for considering kimiiii as welcome back on this forum. Feel free to delete all my posts, thoughts, whatever. Ban me from the site. If this will help anyone feel better than so be it. Thpse few that do no wrong will continue to bash anyway.

I've never seen such hatred. I think it goes to character with each opportunity taken to make sure you can hurt someone. If what you've experienced on a fucking chat room board is the worst you've felt, I'd say you're lucky. You can say all you want, but nothing, NOTHING, that has happened on this board is worthy of such hatred and animosity.

Go ahead, respond with the typical and predicatable things you will say. I've been bashed here myself, and honestly, couldn;t give two shits what you say about me, to me, about anything whatsoever - for none of it changes the fact that it's just a chat room. Some people here want to hop planes and fly across continents to confront others. What does that say about how serious they take this shit??

Excellent. We were long overdue for a poorly written behavioral analysis. Thank you for your contribution.

I hope that's "predicatable" enough for you.

No...probably not, then again, this isn't "real life".

Again, no, but because not all opinions match yours, your conclusion is there must be those out there not in full control of their faculties and thus requiring therapy?

I feel the same about my level of perfection...but I offer my opinion, not the "pre-approved" voice of pack dog mentality, which by the way is a load of shit. Anytime 3 people share the same opinion on something, somebody is bound to cry the oh so convenient "pack dog mentality".

You seem to be taking it quite seriously yourself. If thin skinned people can't bear the thought that others don't think the same way they do, what can anyone do? It goes back to your board/real life comaprison. Do these people die a thousand deaths in the real world, where the stakes are a lot higher than on some board, or do they suck it up and carry on when faced with confrontation?

On a personal note, I'd hate to see you go Grunch...I've always considered you one of the board's top music contributors.

no shit there are some spelling errors. I don't scan for perfection. And you have no clue, no idea, of my technical writing ability when it actually matters. Scanning for errors in a chat room board is about as important to me as bathing before the wolves devour you.

And you were right on cue. I noted some errors but didn;t care to edit, all the while saying to myself, one of them will surely even pounce on spelling and grammar, because the opportunity is there.

A place where hatred abounds is no place I care to be. No melodrama, just a choice to leave well enough alone and move on. You don't see the hatred and malice because you are too much a part of it.

Please list 10 songs from 1983 with male vocals and containing saxophone
that sum up the feelings surrounding a departure.

Or maybe I don't see it because it's not hatred and malice, just a difference of opinion. If you aren't able to see that, it's not my problem.

If, as you say I'm so much a part of it, rally the troops (that's what always seems to happen when I take somebody to task) and demand that I be removed. Surely you, kimiiii and the other "respectful and respectable" forum members can accomplish that feat.

It seems you're yet another of the "if you don't agree with me, you're less than me" types on this board. Rejoice in your superiority.

Grunch,
To echo eight6 I do appreciate your enclycopedic knowledge of music and your willingness to share your expertise, and what must be one of the most complete collections of audio every collected. I also appreciate your willingness to defend a friend. Unlike the majority of you I only know peripherally about Kimiii, but suffice it to say she has provoked strong emotions throughout the NWO.

Unfortunately when such strong emotions are present discourse often degrades into vitriol. May I suggest a common breather away from this post? Neither side is likely at this point to convert the other.

Good idea. I'm getting rather exhausted trying to find anything even remotely close to "hatred" in this thread anyway.

Or continue the line of conversation offline? This seems to have worked in the past amongst others.

All I can say is wow. It really is disheartening to see the boards degenerate into such immature squabbling. No way does the community deserve this. It's curious how, of the three people who's Hub related posts were removed by us mods, only one of them is internalizing the whole thing and screaming foul. But then, this would'nt be the first time that the board has become divided over such pettiness and self-centered drama. Hm. Divide and conquer. Nice. Since I'm already letting out my sorrows, I might as well lament the fact that Mike P obviously overlooked the string of emails that began Thursday night explaining the situation. I'm sure he'll begin his e-paper trail in his own inbox. But I don't think he'll make the mistake of getting caught up in anyon'es drama again. (Like he said in this thread: http://www.nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.as ... ,wondering)

Now Tiger's a regular guy like anyone else here who did us all a kind favor by providing us with a service. The last thing he needs is any negative attention which is why he did what he did with the Hub. Complying with his wishes to keep any ties he ever had to it as non-existent as possible is the least we could do. I mean shit, who wants to see the guy in any legal trouble? And hey people, all your other posts are still around - spoofed IPs and all. So implying that the "secret police" are "out to get you" does'nt hold much water.

The next issue won't give me much pleasure to address but I might as well bring it up. In the User Agreement you'll find the following:

We are authorized by you to remove or modify any data submitted by you to these forums for any reason we feel constitutes a violation of our policies, whether stated, implied or not.

Honestly, this is pretty fundamental forum basics anywhere on the internet. Saying that anyone here runs or ran a Hub falls well within the realm of personal information. I hate to pull this but most people do understand it. Thankfully, most people stay away from these kind of threads. And then there are those who just seem to stay away from NWO because of these threads. Personally, I'd like to see more people adopt a policy of ignoring these sort of divisive threads and posts for the shit-stirring that they are. Nero, you should know better [:(!]

Now before I dismount my high horse, let me just point out that everyone who has file-sharing software can easily log on to the what, hundreds of thousands of Hubs that are out there? Find a Hub, log on, chat, share, do whatever. This Tiger thing is way dead at this point.
