Ok good, i'm not losing my mind. In terms of style, it might actually be the Earthquake version which would also make sense since they are from the Bay area and were on the same label as Greg Kihn. But the version i have seems slow and i'm not sure i remember the jaw harp bit at the end of the choruses.

I did some researching on the Internet, no luck yet, and I'm still thinking what the name of the band is... Drew, are you sure it wasn't the punk band "London?"

Well, i'm beginning to convince myself that the earthquake version is the one i remember. It may be that the copy i have is a bit slow, if it's from vinyl, the speed is not guaranteed. See if you recognize it:

Yeah, it was Euarthquake; however, the version you have IS SLOW, I remember it being really fast, amybe the KROQ DJs used to seed it up!

Right, it was a somewhat common practice to speed up a record to make it sound more uptempo than your competition. Or the joqs really didn't like it and sped it up to get it over with more quickly.
