First New Wave 8 Track

Postby Grunch » Fri Nov 10, 2006 10:26 am

The first 8 track of new wave I owned I would guess would be either America - Hat Track, or REO Speedwagon - Two. These new wave classics made the 8 track rock

Devo - Are We Not Men? This was the last 8 track I ever owned before
getting rid of the thing when cassette became the compact of choice.

REO Speedwagon new wave? Does that make Styx new wave too?

The only new wave 8 track i remember having was DEVO.
I didn't have many, a lot of led zep and I remember playing the hell out of The Mama's and the Papa's California Dreaming.

I found a Gary Numan 8track at a thrift store for ten cents, and it sold for fifty dollars on Ebay. I could not believe it.

The sun never sets on those who ride into it.

I still have these in the attic somewhere but I'm not sure which one I bought first:

Clash - S/T
Dead Boys - Young Loud and Snotty
Saints - (I'm) Stranded
Tuff Darts - S/T
Eddie & the Hot Rods - Teenage Depression
Richard Hell & the Voidoids - Blank Generation
Knack - Get The Knack
Police - Outlandos D'Amour

Hee Hee....
I do not remember which was the first .....
It may have been Blondie's Greatest Hits

But I did have

Kraftwerk - Autobahn on 8 track (It had the worst fade outs)
and I had
Devo - New Traditionalists on 8 Track

I had an 8 track tape recorder and made a few of my own too
Depeche Mode/ Ultravox/ The Some Bizarre album :=)
