Greatest Bond Girl

Moonraker was my first Bond flick. I kinda dig it [:I] At the very least, it demonstrates the influence that the very first Star Wars film had on the movie industry. But I can totally see where everybody's coming from [|)]

James Bond is molded from the same mythic hero clay that Obi Wan Kenobi hails from. Clint Eastwood's Man With No Name, Jason and the Argonauts, one most notable James Tiberius KIRK, Takashi Shimura. Heroes for humanity. Larger than life. Own. Rule. All.

I have the same gripe with this list as the last one we did - WTF is Denise Richards?

Maybe the worst casting (DR as a nuclear physicist) since Daryl Hannah as an astronomer in "Roxanne" or Kelly McGillis as a astrophysicist in "Top Gun".

But I have to vote for Ms Bouquet. My crossbow does, too, wink wink nudge nudge..........

Exactly. It would be unconscionable to include someone who can barely walk and chew gum at the same time, much less have us believe she's a nukiler fookin scientist! Doh!

Hard choice between Claudine and Dame Rigg. Claudine is probably the hottest Bond girl ever, but Diana practically carried my favorite Bond film. Urg. Okay, Diana gets my vote, but damn.

Kinda creepy that both these gals are now old enough to be my moms.

Not a bad list. I wouldn't call any of them bimbos. I guess the best ones never were.

I agree on all those listed with the exception of Clint Eastwoods "Man with no Name". I always saw him as an anti-hero. He was an assassin, he raped and stole and did whatever he wanted. I'm not saying he wasn't one cool Mother Fu**er, just walking to the beat of a different tune.

Yeah, you're right about that. I guess I'm so impressed by Clint's role in Unforgiven who's character is based on the M w/NN that I seem to always think of him right away. He was a character who had more redeeming qualities - still a morally gray figure - but definitely of the "I own and rule so much that I can walk into a gunfight and not bat an eye or crouch for cover" variety. Certainly a mythic figure but probably not of the purity that an Obi Wan is. Maybe more of a Boba/Jango Fett?

I didn't know that the Unforgiven character was supposed to be the Man with no Name. Thats pretty cool and makes a lot of sense. At least now the MWNN has a name, William Muny out of Missurah. What a great movie Clint and Morgan Freeman were at their best. My favorite line from the movie is when that young kid/bounty hunter asks clint after they kill the ranchers "Do you think they had it coming" and Clint says "We all have it coming, kid."
