The Life Aquatic...

...With Steve Zissou. Has anyone else seen this movie. I for one loved it but reading online reviews leads me to believe i'm the only one. I Tivo'd it and have caught myself going back to it quite a few times when nothing else is on. Thats me though, if i like a movie I'll watch it over and over (I.E. Shawshank Redemption). I also liked Wes Andersons other films: Rushmore, Royal Tenanbaums, Bottle Rockets. I also like the soundtrack to all these movies too.

Anywho, just wondering if anyone else liked this film.

I like all of Wes Anderson's films. Life Aquatic was pretty good -- I have it on dvd, as well as Rushmore, which was great.

Thank you Panorama, I shouldn't read reviews i guess. These idiots pick apart movies instead of taking them as what they are. It's very rare that i read a review that hits the mark.

I remember when they re-released STAR WARS. Some dip shit for the local paper, rather than reviewing the digital enhancements gave it a thumbs down for bad acting and unbelievable and inane story line. Fucker [:(!][:D]

I think there may have been a post about this awhile ago. I think I commented how the theater was completely split between people, like my wife and I, who were just busting at the gut and those who sat there like "um, whatever". If you get it, you get it big and if you don't, you don't. I walked out knowing exactly which of my friends (mostly my best friends) to recommend it to and which to say stay away (mostly neighbors and casual acquaintances).

Damn funny film. Good soundtrack too. The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions by Seu Jorge is also highly recommended.

I love Wes Anderson's movies. Life Aquatic is probably might least favorite of the four, but that doesn't mean it's a bad movie. It's actually very good, while the other three border on phenomenal.

I liked it. It was mellow and quietly done, but it was well done.

It was my favorite movie of that year. Loved it.

Loved the movie (though my wife didn't get it)

Also loved the soundtrack. Does the official soundtrack contain the Portugese-version Bowie songs?

Some of the Portuguese Bowie stuff is on the soundtrack as well as a Devo track and a few Mark Mothersbaugh instrumentals. I recommend getting "The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions" by Seu Jorge, a companion album to the official soundtrack. Good stuff!

Hearing the DEV-O song made the movie for me... [8D]

Awful film. Actually I can't really say that, I turned it off after 30 minutes and did the washing up instead.
