Again, you are not making sense. You get back what you give? What did I do? I gave an opinion about a music topic. You were the one talking about shoving something somewhere. A personal attack that was not called for. I don't back down from bullies. Who cares how big you are? I am pretty close to your size and I am not afraid of you. I am not a violent person but I will protect and defend myself. I would love to meet you and if you try to shove something somewhere on me you will have a hard time doing it and have you hands full.I gurantee you that. You name the place and time and I will be there.
Again with the personal attacks calling me a stupid douche. Have I called you any names? No. You don't even know me and you say stuff like that. Like I have said before I don't get it.

All nazi dictators who tell other people what they can and can't post (while hiding under a sock puppet account) are stupid douches.

If you want to get the last word, fine, because I'm done with you after this. However, you'll be happy to know that I have plenty more negative, anti-A********r posts in me. I doubt you'll have any trouble finding them. They'll be in every thread concerning their future releases.

Have a nice day.

Unless I'm reading their vague website wrong, Alma*****r has "Messages" on the release schedule down the road. Given their quality control, I'd wait for the reviews.

What the hell is wrong with this statement Salsynth?

Are you saying nobody has the right to take a cautionary stance once they feel they've had a product misrepresented to them?

If you consider that statement an opening salvo in a war of words, you might want to consider a move to the Philippines.

Exactly. Thank you.

I love how the part of recommending he shove a certain something was a "personal attack" and makes me a "bully." I told him to shove it up his own ass himself. Like I could be bothered.

I'm sure Grunch appreciated being dragged into something that didn't concern him. I seem to recall he had nice things to say about a couple of your no-doubt audio-challenged releases. I'm assuming he won't make that mistake in the future. And what a tacky, stupid, stalking fuck to reveal where people live. Considering Grunch has never (to my knowledge) posted his location in his profile, that offends me far worse than anything offensive I supposedly wrote.

Why doesn't everyone chill out![V]

Somebody Somewhere: I'd appreciate a little less of this blatant crusade against Almacantar. Why don't you cut them some slack instead of jumping to conclusions about a future release? If you're not satisfied with any of their other releases, at least try to be polite and reasonable about it. Have you even contacted Dean over at Almacantar to discuss these issues rather than constantly complain.

Salsynth - why stoop to this level in the first place? Just state your points without getting so emotional about it.

For all of you that are into vinyl mastering -- don't you think it would be more productive to offer to help out a label like Almacantar rather than outright slander them? I, for one, would like to work with them.

I sense that there are two camps who are at odds with eachother over who gets to wear the 'vinyl mastering' crown. Why not work together to help get the best possible product out? These tirades are anything but productive.

Mike:

Seems that Almacantar could be a bit more up front about what the purchaser is getting. Why does it have to be a buyer beware scenario with respect to the source material used to master one of their releases?

Vinyl sourced CD's should be labelled as such. It's just that simple. The only reason I can see for it not to be done is because doing so would hurt sales.

Somewhere you are still very funny. Who's hiding? I called your bluff and now "you are done with this". How convienient. Hey call me some more names. Obviously I'm not shaking like you wished for. You can't handle that can you? I am so glad that you are happy with yourself.
Eight, I disagree with you. All I asked for was facts that he could not bring forth. If he would have contacted Dean with his concerns that would be a different story. There are ways of disagreeing with somebody without making it personal. Somewhere made it personal. I stated my opinion that I did not understand why someone would bash another person that was only helping the people who like this kind of music. I clearly stated that in my post. No personal attacks from me even though he tried to provoke me. I do not know this guy so I would not do that. By the way I hear the Philipines is a beautiful place :)
Mike I hear you. I just don't appreciate people that get crazy because someone has a different opinion than theirs. I also agree with your point about helping Dean not slamming him. That is why I made the initial post. If someone can do a better job, do it.

I'm not taking issue with the releases, if there's a demand for these titles, great. What I am taking issue with is the lack of a clear notation that the CD is mastered from a vinyl source.

If I sold you a car that had been in an accident and repaired but you didn't find out about it until after the sale, you'd be pissed right? You'd probably want your money back as well. As the seller, the reason I didn't tell you about the accident was that you wouldn't be as interested in the car.

On a smaller scale, the same principle applies here.

As well, I read SS's statement as a cautionary "wait and see", not insulting: your response to his statement carried the first load of venom. You issued the challenge to do better or shut up.

I just disagree with the way you see it. That's okay though. We just look at things differently. No harm. No rude comments, no personal attacks.

Right. But you did fire a shot across the bow of the USS SS. The return fire should have been expected.

Again, that is your opinion. My opinion is that I did not do that at all. Let's not get into this again. We agree to disagree. I think everyone knows where we stand. I think it's time to move on now.

Wow, i was impressed to see this topic (The Rescue) had 29 replies. It's a lot for such obscure band ! But then i realized it had nothing to do with the band itself. What a shame.
Back to the subject, "The Rescue" (Tim McGeary - bass and vocals; Paul McGovern - guitar and vocals; Michael Gross - Guitar and Saxophone; Vincent Piazza - keyboards; Bobby Siems - drums) released only one LP "Messages", produced by former New Musik's Tony Mansfield.
I consider Tony Mansfield one of the most genious "New Wave" artists ever. He was involved in so many New Wave bands as a producer, songwriter or musician. I think i like almost everything he has produced, written or played. After the Fire, Naked Eyes, The Damned, Aztec Camera, A-ha, New Musik, The Rescue, Vicious Pink, Mecano, B52s, etc. If only the "New Wave Oscars" exist, i think he should deserve an Honorary one.
Back to "The Rescue", i was lucky to listen to the whole LP this year, after listening to "Tell Me Now" on local radio. I must tell that "Tell Me Now" is their best song, the rest sounds a bit like "The Cure". I would also recommend "When The Talking is Over".
