Hey, can you take Darkwave with you? After that bullshit post he made the other day, I'm sure he'd be a real credit to that board.

Damn, should have just posted that famous adieu line: "Sayonara dipshit!"

Hey, feel free to take your band of misfits elsewhere. Z and Andy together again? To the power of #!!![:D] I wonder how long it will be before your board no longer "tolerates all viewpoints" as it currently boasts. Ah well, shine on all you crazy power crystals!

Now, back to *gasp* The Rescue. Is there going to be more material other than the EP? I thought they had a great slightly Cure-esque sound. Any demos or unreleased material would be welcome.

Maybe he thinks you're Rubellan?
God, I hope not. Dean once saw a nasty review of the Autumnal Park CD on Amazon and immediately assumed it was me. No hiding here, as I would always post my (screen)name to something I comment on.
Why don't I want it to say 'remaster'? Because it is not a remaster. It is a transfer from vinyl that is cleaned up to the best of someone's ability, be it mine or anyone elses. My feeling is that it should be called a remaster only if it's from the original tapes.
Actually, a remaster basically refers to improving/enhancing the sound. I use "remaster" on my CD's because that's exactly what I do. To just clean up the clicks and pops would be more appropriate to use the word "restore", though since I dig into re-EQing and other noise reduction processes, "remaster" is the appropriate word. Anyone got the Mobiles CD yet? :-)

I'm Salsynth on Tuesdays, Rubellan on Thursdays, and tha_farfetch on control freak days.

I agree. This thread had "exhausted its potential" until salshyth changed the subject. Speaking of this thread, if anybody thinks twice about buying from ********** after reading all of it, I seriously doubt it's because of anything I wrote.

No kidding: the way it reads now is that those who tout Almacantar and it's releases state you're not going to know what you're getting qualitywise until after they have your money, and you have the CD. Furthermore, they contend that's not a bad thing.

Line up guys, I've got some stuff to sell you.

Hey SS, please don't mention my name in your posts anymore. Thank You. Almacantar is a great label. I wish there were many more like them. This way I could get things not ever released on cd (legally not bootlegged)more often.

Heh, typical ... as if I and others here approve inferior quality releases across the board.[|)]

No ... but it IS called a reality check. Do you hold all the other labels who engage in vinyl "remastering" to the same standards by warning buyers up front on a sticker or on their web site? Probably not. Do you honestly think the labels are going to divulge this information beforehand? Get real. I'm sure we've all been burned or at least disappointed by other releases that turned out to be muddy sounding, not from master tapes, etc., but they got our money didn't they?

Personally, I'd like to work with Dean or any other indie labels doing this, and get more enthusiasts here involved somehow. That's better than "all bitching and no action."

Yes, they probably did. But will they get anymore? Why is it wrong to expect a quality product for our money? Or better, some basic honesty?

Not that I buy many CDs, (still working through my vinyl) but those that I do buy are held to the same level of scrutiny in terms of an expected sound quality based on what I know about the release. Without a notation that the CD was vinyl sourced, I assume it was sourced from master tapes.

If they were upfront with the fact it was vinyl sourced, and I still choose to buy it, I live with what I get. Not being given that information at the time of purchase is what I object to.

It's a simple concept. Frankly, I'm stunned that very few seems to see the logic in just being honest with customers.
Probably not.
Wrong.

Yes, a little honesty and integrity would be too much to ask for. What was I thinking?

I find it amazing how many times it's "bitching" when one refuses to put up and shut up. Nobody is bitching, I'm simply asking for more information upfront to make a prudent purchase decision.

And lastly,
Heh, typical ... as if I and others here approve inferior quality releases across the board.[|)]
No, but you do seem to approve of selected inferior releases with the explanation that others do it...correct me if I'm wrong.

Are you the mayor or something? Do you decide what is okay here? You seem like a very smart person when it comes to music, but you make some strange comments. I am glad that SS calmed down, I just do not want to be mentioned in his posts. Please mind your business. Thank you.

No I'm not the mayor, and no, I don't decide what is okay here, but that's never stopped me from commenting on the endless stream of melodrama that permeates the NWO.

"Please mind your business"? You're joking right?

And you're implying I post some strange comments...

If it's posted here, I'll comment if I want to. If you don't like it, don't post. Seems simple enough to me. Feel free to complain, it's the melodramatic thing to do.
