Do They Know Its Christmas B-side "Feed The World?

Postby DJ Lestat » Tue Dec 19, 2006 8:07 am

Hey guys does anyone have the b-side to "Do They Know It's Christmas". It's the one with all the singers giving holiday greetings.
Thanks,
Lestat

I'm not sure if this version was the actual B-side but it clocks in @6:15 and has the cavalcade of holiday greetings. (IMO the best version out there)

Cheers! [;)]

Feed the World was actually integrated into the 12" mix.

If you think your signature is cool, then most likely, it is actually annoying.[/i]

Thanks for posting that song, Retro_NRG! This past weekend, I was ridiculed because someone I knew was shocked that I didn't have the extended version of this song. I went looking for it to no avail, and surprisingly enough found it here! My reputation is intact, until the next time they ask for me for an extended version of something I don't have. [:)]

Those jackasses at the record company should have released this on CD instead of the lame 20th anniversary version. I think the original extended was only released on CD in JP.

I have a Japanese 3" cd of Do They Know It's Christmas? with a track labeled as 12" Mix, remixed by Trevor Horn Mercury PHDR-902

I assume this is what you are referring to....

Yep, that's the one.

Hmm, I don't suppose you want to make a lot of friends and up the entire single in high quality.

I always thought the lyric "Do they know it's Christmas" was pretty funny considering that Africa is essentially a Muslim nation.....uhm...no , the don't know it's Christmas.....and why did Marilynn need to be there?

Good question. How about Paul Young? Great voice and I understand why he was in the band, but was he really THAT big in thoose days?

yeah it's funny to look at the legend (there was a graph type thing (ala the Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's celebrity Identifier) and Marilynn certainly seems the odd...ahem "man" out....I suppose he had a hit at the time in England....but it seems everyone else in the 'band' has gone on to sustained greatness....or retains some type of importance (for example Heaven 17 has ceased to be 'current' -but their contrabutions to electronic music can not be argued)

Paul Young WAS big then. And Heaven 17 was indeed current and big. Don't forget, we're talking about England. Check back on the British Top 40 charts in 1984...
