Prefab Sprout vs. ABC

Postby n/a5 » Mon Dec 20, 2004 10:19 am

I can't decide.

ABC had the chart toppers (at least here in the States on TOP 40 radio) but Sprout just had this bubble gum pop synth thing going on that still keeps looping in my head.

Sprout songs kind of all sound the same but sometimes it is that old standard you know you want and....they never disappointed. I still can't listen to ABC's "When Smokey Sings" due to the over play on TOP 40 radio...yet ABC were able to sound different without always sounding the same (just think Yogi Berra here).

I just can't make up my mind.

Prefab is one of those bands that just got better and better with age and I wouldn't necessarily classify them

This is a weird match-up :). But, hey, it's a ll good!--I'd go fro Prefab Sprout. They had/have more depth than ABC, a band geared towards the radio-friendly pop formula. ABC was a good band but they haven't written anything that could measure up to "The
