First off, before I address Eight 6, I'd like to apologize to all for turning this into a Spaz issue, which was not my intention at all. I only mentioned past situations to bring up MikeP's honest, fair and patient attitude towards people on this board, whether he likes them or not (and he's never really told me who he likes and dislikes so please don't read anything into that).

Back to Eight 6... and my hopefully last non-music related post on this board....

This post is not filled with venom or even the slightest bit of anger so don't read it as such. It is not a defensive diatribe towards you although it is directed at you. Read it as a 'matter of fact' answer to your comments about me...

I believe, and I'm hoping others might agree, that it is YOU who have a problem with those that disagree with YOUR opinions. I don't ever expect anyone to agree with me (apart from this statement) and I'm quite happy when people do. If people disagree, then that's fine, too.

But I've never responded to somebody's differing opinion....only their over-the-top attack that I felt was unnecessary. Was the disagreement unnecessary? Probably not, but I sometimes see other peoples' passions attacked by you, which I find unnerving at times. Maybe it's just me misreading your intentions. I'll admit to that.

You, on the other hand, seem to spend to much time disagreeing on this board...maybe just for the fun of it? You do seem quite intelligent and witty but filled with too much spite and anger towards me and a few others on this board. Hey, if you think I"m a dick then just don't get up and respond to my postings. For the most part, I ignore yours, whether I agree or disagree. I just don't feel like getting into it.

Whatever I've done towards you in the past that you took personal, then I am truly sorry. Those who know me know that I'm a decent, upstanding and very likeable person. I have very few enemies, if any.

Well, maybe here....

Am I too sensitive? No, I don't think so. Opinions are opinions. We've all got them...and I admire those who stand up for what they believe. But I sometimes feel that you, and to a lesser extent, others, can be condescending towards others. We have the right to express our opinions without fear of retaliation. It's oft been said on this board that many don't want retaliation and won't post their opinions. That's just wrong.

I've been a lurker on many other sites and have posted as well and they never resort to a playground mentality that this place often does. Should I call you a bully? I believe that I have in the past and still think that you might have some personal issues that need to be dealt with, but don't we all? I've got plenty and I won't deny it for one moment. We all do, to varying degrees. But I could be wrong...maybe you don't have issues and your somewhat aggressive opinions are always right?

And just like many people here, I'm not sheltered, spoiled or stupid and I've experienced way too much heartache, death, divorce, depression and living with a birth defect, etc. Basically, I'm human. If you catch me on the right day, I'll laugh about it all. If you catch me on a bad day, it can be too much to bear. But that is life. But when I come to a place to learn and share about music and I see people getting dumped on for whatever reason (by you or whoever), it leaves me cold and I don't post music info.

I work and write about music (mostly imports) every day and I get tracklistings, info, bonus tracks, reissue news, etc weeks and sometiems months ahead of the release date. I come to this site to share it but see so much trivial crap that I just don't feel excited about it and go back to what I was doing at work. In 2007, I'll just stay away from this area and just post in the music areas.
Aren't you a lucky bully?

And it's useless to jump all over me about this post. I feel it is civil and self-explanatory. There's no viciousness hidden in here. I'm sure you'll be all over it, but maybe take it offline? We know you're going to have some intelligent, witty things to say in response...and it's kind of predictable now. I won't respond to your words unless you take it off this board. It's up to you to decide whether you want to peacefully (or unpeacefully) discuss these issues away from everyone else.

And one more thing (to anyone that is still reading)

I want to share this with you. In the past, when things got way too personal, there were a few guys who felt it necessary (at the time) to attack me personally. I honestly don't know why they weren't locked off the board at the time, but I don't hold grudges against the moderators for not stepping in. Almost immediately, Hutter apologized in a very nice personal e-mail. I don't hold grudges, so I immediately accepted and have not even given a negative thought towards him again. Now, Eight6 and Motors were a different story. I think that Motors was actually the most vicious of the three, but I'm not sure. It was all pretty hurtful and stopped me from posting much in the recent months.
Today, I recieved a very nice e-mail from Motors. An apology. I did not ask for it nor was I expecting it. And I decided that I was going to publicly accept that apology (and I'll send him an e-mail, too) and give him all the respect he deserves. A supreme gesture from someone that I would never have spoken to six hours ago, but now have not one ounce of anomosity towards. I thank you for that, MOtors. It was truly a cool thing to do (and you even publicly did the same...another fine gesture). I shall crown you Sir Motors (I've got to find Sir Hutter's paperwork and get that filed with the Queen as well).

No, I don't expect Eight6 to apologize. I don't believe that he has anything to apologize for. His opinions are facts, I suppose.

But I do wish him a Merry Christmas. Or Happy HOliday. I'm not quite sure what his religion is, but I wish him well.

And also to Hutter and Motors. We may not end up being the best buds, but if they ask for those custom made Spaz comps, they'll get them!!!!

Please enjoy your Christmas everyone. Stay safe and be sure to let everyone know what new wave things you found under the tree!

SPAZ
Born of innocence. Free of ignorance.
You consistently tie any comments I may make on your posts to a judgment of you as a person. This is a fault many here make. If I take issue with content of your posts, it doesn't mean I'm passing judgment on you as a person. There is far too little information available in posts for me (or anyone else) to do a credible job of that, although many of you seem to feel you've got me pegged based on my posts.

Contrary to your assertion, I have absolutely no problem if people don't agree with what I post. If I did, I wouldn't post what I do. The minute your opinion of my thoughts means more than mine, I'm a lost cause.

To be frank, I've had my fill of the psychoanalysis offered up by various members here. I choose my words carefully, because I know I will have to live with them and more often than not, defend them. I suggest others decide to adopt this strategy. Frankly, some of the stuff posted on this site reads as though it fell out of a cows ass.

Lastly, you're right...I've said nothing towards you for which I feel the need to apologize. I have done so for others here, but in your case, the only difference that I saw with our confrontations was that my venom had your name on it, whereas yours took the form of a blanket statement aimed at a swath of the membership. Nothing says lack of conviction like the inability to deal directly with the person causing you a problem. At least you've managed to correct that here, apparently bolstered by the fact others are taking a poke at me.

No matter, I can handle a few tersely typed words.

If anyone else wants to vent in my direction, please e-mail me...I'm also growing weary of being accused of needing the last word on everything. Let's just call this my last words on this topic.

Feel better Spaz?

"Attack" and "assertively disagree" are often mistaken for each other here. The "attack" term carries much more of a negative conotation, and is overused strictly for the shock value.

Spaz tends to be a bit sensitive when his opinions/ideas are questioned. That has nothing to do with anyone other than Spaz.
I'm not sure what alternate reality you live in, but when disagreement leads to a person being called "fat ass" and other epithets, it looks like an attack to me. If that qualifies as shock value for you, so be it. I do think it is time you come down from the ivory tower since you're as guilty of attacking people on this board as I am.
A perfect example of why I get accused of having to have the last word. OK:

Ivory tower...that's rich coming from you. The fact of the matter is I've never referred to anybody here in those terms, so why are you tieing me to that comment? Your simplistic analysis is a bit of a joke.

If you're going to preach, get your facts straight. You're still batting .000 with me aren't you?

Please, offline from this point forward.

And I made my apologies and swore not to be such an ass to him again. He accepted my apology. It's a non issue, or so I'd like to believe.
I didn't intend the response as an attack on you, I was just trying to clarify what I believed Spaz was talking about.
Didn't take it as an attack, but I knew you weren't privy to my corespondence with Spaz. I was just making things clear.

You put out an olive branch the other day, so whatever ill feelings I had towards you, justified or not, are meaningless now. Life's too short to hold grudges, especially on a music message board. I've been to political boards that exhibited less venom than this board. Something is wrong with that picture. I take my fault in it, and have decided to keep my conservative beliefs for more appropriate forums. So we cool?

Thanks. I appreciate the gesture and will try to keep my strong opinions about politics from spilling into the personal crap I've been spewing. All the best to you and your family.

It's pretty telling that eight6 has been accused more than once of hurling fat insults at the person in question, when he never did anything of the sort in any of the three threads where that war waged. I guess people see what they want to see. I know I do. In my case, I saw the person in question hurling an epithet at me (under the guise of 'Would you say that to him?') I don't seem to recall the mods doing anything about that, either. Not that I asked or wanted them to. And, besides, why would they? The person in question is always the victim, after all. Even when -- no, especially when -- he's spewing far worse than he's receiving.

I'm sad to say I missed the posts of Rubbeet that were deleted, so I'm not really qualified to weigh in on that. If I were, I'd probably comment how much I doubt they were enough to put her at the top of the list of The Most Offensive NWO Posters. With the direction this forum is headed, I feel like she's getting the better end of the deal, anyway.

<br>If Mike sees fit to block someone from the board, so be it. It's his place, and I look at this website as a privledge, not a right. I'm all for a good flame war too, but there's a line...cross it too many times and you're outta here. Good riddance too.

Seasons Greetings everyone!

The above post by medication seems right on to me. I have been busy getting ready for Christmas last week and missed much of what was going on. But Mike P. is a very patient man from what I have experienced as a moderator and a member of the NWOP. He is a VERY tolerant guy. So whatever happened, it had to be pretty bad for Mike to ban Rubbeet.
With that said, I am sorry to see Rubbeet go. She used to make me laugh and was always helpful when it came to music. I don't know what happened as of late, but I wish her the best. I really hope everyone can make a conscious effort to remember why we are here and try to get along.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. I think the board has gone through some major growing pains and has come out the better for it. People's attitudes are maturing and a lot of healing has occurred in this past week. I didn't want to see Rubbeet go either, but it seems to have been a wake up call to many on here that you can't act anyway you want with zero repercussions. Will she come back? That's up to her & Mike P. Let's look forward to a better year ahead.

I will miss Rubbeet. I don't know all the intrigue that got her banned and I respect Mike's decision. Similarly, I don't know all the intrigue involving Kimiiii, but I respect Mike's decision to welcome her back to the NWO. Beet says she was attacked for expressing support for Kimiiii. If that's the case then bring on the flames cuz I share her view on that interminable controversy. I am baffled by the hateful obsession of certain motors er, members, with Kimiiii and her return.

Oh, and Happy New Year!
