myPOD: How did that happen?

Today, as I was messing about with my iPod, I realized that I had 141 songs by Bad Manners loaded up. Now, I'll admit that there are 'extended' or remixes of maybe 25 tracks but I never load live tracks onto my iPod! So, how the hell did I end up with 141 Bad Manners tracks? I have loaded up all existing studio CDs with no song duplications (apart from remixes) but that's probably double the amount of tracks...even triple....that I thought I had!

I'm not finished loading all the Big Country CDs yet, but I've already got 120+ tracks in there already!

In contrast, I've got 140 Beatles tracks loaded, which is more understandable. I've got 155 Elvis Presley songs in there as well (I've only loaded the tracks that I can't live without...otherwise, there's be double that!)

Are there artist you have loaded in your iPod or iTunes that you're quite surprised by the amount of songs you're carrying around?

Other bands I've got in iTunes that exceed the 100 song mark:

Depeche Mode-102
BMX Bandits-110
Level 42-115
Mental As Anything-103
The Nits-163
Right Said Fred-81 (May not be 100, but most certainly 80 more songs than probably anyone else here has heard!!!)
Squeeze-102

Damn you Spaz! You've got me scurrying through my Pod this morning!! But right, I discovered two very odd things. The Cure - why the hell do I have all these loaded in here? Turns out it's because all the recent reissues, and I've been (temporarily) going through them all. The Church - I guess just by sheer longevity. Otherwise, the list just shows the mainstreamist that I am...with a side penchant for Vangelis head music and Goldfrappy Glam.

New Order - 401
The Cure - 344
Joy Division - 231
The Smashing Pumpkins - 186
Vangelis - 175
The Church - 169
The Smiths - 155
Siouxsie & the Banshees - 130
The Jam - 128
Gary Numan - 127
The Clash - 117
Simple Minds - 102
Depeche Mode - 102
Goldfrapp - 100

But jeez Spaz, 81 Right Said Freds?! That's just bizarre and terrifying.

A lot of repeats off different albums, mixes, alt versions, demos, boots, lives, etc. Made me realize I gotta strip some of this outta here. Funny band these guys, because as much as I like them, I probably really only absolutely love 20% of the stuff and can't stand another 20% of the other stuff. Weird.

At this point I only have 1800 songs on my ipod - I'm not in the same league with you high rollers! But, 45 of them are from The Motels. I think that's kind of odd that I have more Motels than Blondie...[:D]

You ask me this when I'm out of town (where it's easier to see the Itunes display on my computer). I'll revive this thread when I'm back in a week and a half.
