A good night to stay home and do NOTHING. Way too much hype for a night of high expectations. I don't need to watch a stupid ball drop in order to get drunk and risk a DUI.

New Year's Eve is my big night to RAGE. Man, I love this night...it's not religious or anything, and you celebrate just because the clock changes. Awesome !
However, this past year, it's gotten harder and harder for me to stay awake late anymore, so I'm wondering if I'm even gonna make it to midnight this year. Oooh.

I have a friend over every year - we eat lots of junk food and watch bad movies.

This year it's Buffalo Wing dip, mozzarella sticks and meatballs. I think we're watching Vincent Price movies this year. I've run out of awful Joan Crawford ones....

We usually host at our house so we can get as crocked as we want. About 12 couples. I'll be making a bunch of martinis...

Classic Dry with Grey Goose
Apple Martinis
Cranberry Martinis
Cosmopolitans
Patron & Tres Generaciones Tequila Gimlets
Lastly but not leastly, my private reserve of out-of-production Tanqueray Malacca Gin Martinis

No one here gets out alive! [}:)]

I hope "The Abominable Dr. Phibes" is on the playlist.

We're going to drive north of the city and watch the Strip fireworks from there. No way am I going to actually go down there in that mess.

After that, it's games and drinks and snacks at the BMG casa.

I'm jealous of the gin stash! My new hostess cocktail is a Pomegranate martini: 1 part pomegranate juice, 1 part triple sec, three parts Pearl Persephone vodka, big squeeze of lime, teaspoon of pomegranate seeds.

We don't like to drive on NYE, so we usually host or attend a small gathering of neighborhood friends, but all of them are breeding lately and won't leave the house. [:(]

I'm gonna spend it with all my family as usual doing the usual... eating, laughing of the rest of the family members with my cousins, watching the fireworks.
Then, I'll probably go out with a friend after that but I'm not sure yet.

How can it be so difficult to find Vincent Price movies? I went to 3 stores today & nothing. Jeez, maybe I should try the dollar store...

I picked up a 5 movie set of old 50's sci-fi movies & I think that will work out for our annual bad movie & junk food New Years Eve. It has The Tarantula, The Mole People, Monolith Monsters, Incredible Shrinking Man and something else that I can't remember...

The description of the Mole People sounds particularly intriguing; "3 scientists stumble upon a tyrannical tribe of albinos who have enslaved a mutant..." How awesome will that be????
