The Bullshit Thread

Postby randy » Thu Dec 28, 2006 3:38 am

What out there is TRUE bullshit?

You know, things such as:
The "fashions" worn on a runway that look as though friggin martians would not wear them? and these designers are mega rich for this shit?

The dog show judges, that can never pick an obscure breed to win? Its always Poodles, Pinscher's and Beagles that win. These other breeds do not win because its obvious the judges dont know a "perfect" speciman if they saw one!!

Art. Lots of great painters 100-200-300 years ago. Who the hell says Rembrandt is so much greater than Joe Blow? What makes him so damn special?

Modern art. Please--I was at a show where the "artist" had 12 rusty poles, each about 3 feet long , leaning in a corner off the room. LEANING. NOT ATTACHED TO ANYTHING, NOT EVEN EACH OTHER. $3,500 if I wished to purchase it. Yeah..right..I'll do that. Pack up those rusty friggin poles for me!!! Got a great corner to shove them in.

A bottle of water for 3.50 at Six Flags.

How about the $9.00 hamburg at Universal studios? Its a fuckin hamburger you overcharging assholes!!!!!!

The ACLU.--NO comment needed. Self explanatory.[:D]

You HAD to get me started?!
Tickets to ANY sporting event. God forbid you want to take your kids!
Sports are there for the average guy. A hard working, not rich, average person. You work hard and deserve an outlet. It used to be baseball. Not anymore. Try yankee tickets, try nicks tickets. This is complete and absolute BULLSHIT! They should pass a fucking law that stops wall street execs from getting into events. The only way to get ok seats at any event is if you know someone. That is total bullshit. I am going to start sounding communist again but who the fuck are they? Who the hell makes the rich people better than us? We need an outlet, and they take that away from us. The rich better pray that the average person does not get fed up with them. Then we are talking revolution and guess who gets it first? People better smarted up as the population grows. They better give the poor people a way to vent or there will be a problem. Ok, I'm done.

Oh great, now you started me! OK, how rich is rich enough? I think there needs to be a cap. How could people run around like nichole richie and Paris hilton? They never contributed shit to the world. But they throw it in everyones face by running around like they do. And all the other ones. There is a moral obligation to help your fellow man but there should be a legal one. Fuck these pompous pricks. And God bless the ones that do contribute! Microsoft builds schools and donates millions to different things every day. They make a difference. And there are others but I'm giving myself a heart attack with this subject!

Karl Lagerfeld. How is it he is immune to the fashion whims he and other designers cast upon us mortal folk? Thirty years with the same look Karl...way to go. Fashion...bullshit.

Philly, you must have seen this article...

My guess is all that outsourcing is really starting to pay off for the investor class...

Are hockey tickets still affordable?

Obligatory whispy gay guys in every tv show or anything thats of a fashion, decor or decorating sense. I have friends/relatives that are gay so i'm not blasting the orientation but puhleeease! enough is enough. Why do have to have that whispy, lispy nasaly holier than thou flaming condesending fem voice? tell you what, go for man voice lessons first then maybe it'll give a little more creedence to your ideas. Quit shuvin it down our throat (no pun intended)

Karl Lagerfeld is the walking, yet still fey dead. God, he gives me the creeps. I remember Margaret Cho was making fun of him & how he's always fanning himself. She said it was to fan the flames of his faggotry.

I suppose the overly femme gay guy thing is just so we absolutely, positively know they're gay. I'm not sure why we have to know that. I would be a stinking shame that they show someone who acts like everyone else...

My "bullshit" - textbooks that cost $100+. WTF???? I have to buy them, I have no choice - cut me a break - I have a mortgage!

From my end of the pool...

That the "little purple pill" on TV is better than the generic or over-the-counter drugs in the same class--Bullshit!

Homeopathy. Biologic bullshit.

That, even though Big Pharma spends approximately $15,000/physician/year on marketing it in no way influences prescribing patterns--Of course it doesn't work--that's why they do it[;)]
(BTW to any of the physicians on the board--this is NOT a swipe at you. 95% of the doctors I work with are hard-working, caring, and very ethical but all that marketing has to influence someone...)

The "cult of celebrity" in this country. No Talent? (Yeah, Paris I'm talking to you) No problem. Exactly why do we care what she does/thinks/has intercourse with? Hell at least Nipsey Russell is funny (he's still alive, right?)!

Reality TV "Stars" see above point.

The "War on Christmas" political boogeyman that nitwits like Bill O'Reilly like to use. Bullshit!

Gee, Phil this thread got me started, too....

The white powder he dumps in his hair is terrible looking. I'm sorry, I can't take fashion advice from someone who dips his head in baby powder.

Bratz dolls.

I hate the damn things and my daughters got a truckload of them for Christmas. They look like little hootchie-mamas. Skimpy clothing and 10 tons of makeup (badly applied, I might mention. Come on! Who wears dark lip liner and pale lipstick? Oh, wait....) on a doll for little girls.

Seriously, these dolls look like the bitches in high school that would cut you if you looked at them wrong. They look like the girls I see at the mall with 4-inch long red fingernails, fake designer purses and their fat rolls spilling over the tops of their jeans. At least the Bratz dolls don't have fat muffin tops, I guess.

Getting the silly things out of the wrappings is another reason I hate them. All the tape, glue, strings, twisty wire things... It's a freaking doll; is all that really necessary?!
