The Stranger to Stranger LP contains 10 and not 5 songs. The tracklisting is the following:

1. Still of the Night 4:03
2. Until We're Together 3:55
3. Romantic Dreams 3:55
4. What I have got to Lose 3:50
5. State of the Nation 4:35

1. Shangri-La 3:46
2. Communication 4:08
3. All I need is You 2:54
4. Stranger in a Strange Land 5:20
5. Living Alone Too Long 4:09

As I haven't got the other record, I can't tell you the difference. Maybe the length of the songs will help you further.

There's a couple of EPs. I've received tracks from Schwenko and others, and my assumption to how these are laid out is as follows. Would look forward to any more authoritative commentary:

1980 Logging Time:
Logging Time
Caribbean Cruise
Intransition
Ready For The Wave
Production Goes On

1981 Turning to Light:
DNA
Your Love is Unreal
Turning To Light
Make Hanna Whine

Edit: AJ then must be referring to the "mini-LP" of 1983 which actually does look like a subset of the album:
01. Communication
02. State Of The Nation
03. Romantic Dreams
04. Still Of The Night
05. Living Alone Too Long

...which also jibe's with one of MikeP's Songs of the Week labeled as "Still of the Night (EP Version)"

Anyone care to post links for these tracks? I have the '83 EP and haven't heard it since probably then. I remember contemplating whether or not I should buy the cassette of the LP when it came out, but passed on it. I guess I realized that I only bought he EP in the first place based on how the band looked in the "State Of The Nation" video...I know, how incredibly shallow. But who wasn't a sucker for a good do and a spectacular pair of suspenders back then, huh?

Here's two extended versions taken from two different 12":

Industy - State Of The Nation (Extended Version) 83
http://www.yousendit.com/download/k4xUdhIO4oB5TA%3D%3D

Industry - State Of The Nation (Extended Dance Version)
http://www.yousendit.com/download/k4xUd ... N5TA%3D%3D

This song was a number one hit in Italy, but I still don't understand why it wasn't a success anywhere else. IMO it should have been huge.

I hope this is okay with my sources...I believe I picked these up quite awhile ago from Schwenko and Oneno possibly. Thanks to them:

Logging EP...

Turning EP...

Logging especially is really raw, elemental stuff. [:p]

I'm not a sound enginner just an audition novice but i`ll make my best...
BTW i found in discogs.com info about this LP the original tracks skips Shangri-la as track 1A and state of the nation as track 5B (and Ebay lists on the Japanese edition the same tracklisting)

Great to see there are other fans of INDUSTRY. Unfortunately missed them in the 80s. I can't remember hearing or seeing them on German radio or tv back them. But luckily I found a copy of the "Stranger by Stranger" album in a second hand store a few years ago and was positively surprised from the first time I listenend to it. [:)]

There was a post of the album some time ago on one of the "known" blogs (RObertPOland or Saltyka, but I can't remember which one and the search doesn't bring up any results). I'm also working on a declicked/depopped version of my own vinyl rip which I probably can post in the future.

There also exists a (rare) Japanese CD pressing, which a guy from the Philippines has offered on ebay from time to time. Does anyone have this and could tell, if this CD is taken from a master tape (as in the item description) or just from vinyl? And, of course, does anyone have this???

I have it but - I'm ashamed to admit this - haven't given it a listen yet. I'll do so today and let you know. Unfortunately, the production doesn't include anything else but the LP tracks.

I got into them through the New Wave Complex series and someone on here kindly sent me a CD compilation of their early stuff (thanks for doing this whoever you are, please let yourself be known!) and have to say it's far better than their later, 2nd rate AFOS crap they were doing.

Dang, these links are dead now. Can anyone please post the songs from the "Logging Time" EP? I've always wanted to hear all the songs from that record.

Marvelous, thank you very much for the link!
Speaking of Industry, anyone knows if there are more versions of "Stranger in a strange land"?
