AC/DC and your kids

My two kids 7 and 11 love AC/DC. We have numerous friends whose kids of all different ages also love them. I introduced them to Back in Black and Highway to Hell, but I think it was The School of Rock movie that's fueled their popularity. If they ever tour again they'll be a tougher ticket than the Rolling Stones. Anyone else notice this phenomenon?

Back in 1981 my mom broke all my AC/DC records in half because she was convinced it was satanic music (one of her dumbass friends told her that AC/DC meant "After Christ/Devil Comes"). My, how things have changed.

My soon-to-be 15-year-old and his friends love them.

I wonder, too, if "School of Rock" has anything to do with kids listening to AC/DC all of a sudden. Our kid has liked them for years, but my husband loves that kind of music, so I've always attributed it to that. I look at my son's friends' parents, who are all much older than we are, and they certainly don't seem as though AC/DC is anyone they would ever listen to. Who knows ...

Sort of OT: My son was at a guitar store on Saturday and scored an autograph from Billy Gibbons. I was surprised my son even knew who he is, and more surprised when all his friends did, too.

I do think AC/DC is the Stones of a bit younger generation.My son at about 13 started listening and buying all kinds of classic real rock like Zep,VanHalen,Black Sabbath and at my insitence the Stooges.I do know a few people that attended the SARS benefit in Toronto in 03? and they all said AC/DC was the show ,even outplaying the Stones.
Good luck to VanHalen as they tour again.Here,s their chance to regain some thunder.
