Any of you have NW siblings?

I know that kimiiii recently brought up a "Did your parents approve?" thread, but what about your siblings? Did any of you have to compete for tapes, stereo time, clothes, hair gel[:I], etc.? Or were their opposite musical tastes a source of friction, altercations, and/or stony silence and hostile glares?

Me: my younger brother was into heavy heavy metal (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc.) In public, he shunned me and my New Wave quirkiness. But at home, I think he was ok with it. We certainly devoured a LOT of early 81-82-83 MTV together, dissecting everything we saw amidst giggles and the 'wow' factor.

My olders sister - who is exactly 10 years older- was extremely influential in guiding my taste in music. I can recall sitting in her room (being a tiny irritant) and listening to all of her Blondie and Clash records with her. I followed her around like a

We dwelled on this topic a few months back [:o)] but well, I'll say it again...

I'm the third among 4 siblings. No sisters at all![:(] My 2 older bros were very much into NW, so I got the influence from them. My youngest bro followed. I'm the one who f

My brother is 10 years older and got me into punk and new wave. He loved all types of music even back then and I would never have called him a punk or new waver at any time. I got him 4 cds fo Festivus, 3 Max Webster ones and Ultravox,s Quartet. All were

My sister Jenn is one year and nine days older than me. While I was flipping my school and elders the proverbial bird in '85-'86, obsessing on The Misfits, Dead Kennedys and Black Flag, she was one bedroom away cranking the likes of early Tears For Fears,

None of my 3 brothers or 2 sisters were New Wavers. They all enjoyed different New Wave songs though. I did manage to drag my sister to the Depeche Mode "Some Great Reward" concert in 1984. I made her dress as New Wave as she can.

I must acknowledge my big sis (10yrs my senior) for introducing me to some quintessential New Wave/Punk music during my late 70's adolescence. The 1st two Talking Heads albums 'TH 77'& 'More Songs About Buildings and Food' got many plays on her boyfriend'
