Scary Thieves released 3 singles, and had an album ready to go until it was discovered the lead singer was sleeping with the g/f of the label exec whose job it was to release the lp.

The other two releases appear on the "Hardest Hits" series (Tell Me Girl & The Waiting Game), but this one never made it, which is puzzling to me as I think it's far better than the other 2.

BTW: The self titled lp was released as a semi-boot CD a while back.

I was going to sig "Tell Me Girl" somewhere down the road, but what the hell -- I'll just put it here.

Ironically, it's my favorite of the 3, but the only one I don't have a copy of in any format.

Never heard that version before...the extended mix sounds much better to me...more piercing synths.

Although First Men On The Sun are certainly obscure, (google them to see what I mean) it is in reality 2/3 of the 80's group Abecedarians. I haven't had any luck finding anything online pertaining to the group, but the band members are:

- Chris Manecke
- John Blake
- Jason Toney

In true Abecedarians fashion, the song titles on this S/T release are, well, interesting.

I'm stretching the forum's boundries here a bit as the CD is from 1995, but I'm hoping the bands 80's roots qualify it.
