Madonna, by a long shot.

I have never, ever liked anything involving Gwen, and that includes No Doubt, her solo stuff and the yucky clothes she designs.

I'd like Madonna ever more if she'd just shut up and sing.

sounds like you have a little bit of Hostility towards Gwen, [:D]!

Nah. I just think she's overrated.

But now that I think about it, when I hear that "Hollaback" (?) song, I want to break things, so maybe.... [:D]

Madonna, when Gwen is pushing 50 and is still getting it done then I might consider her, till then she isn't even in the same league.

And also Like A Prayer.

While Gwen is just trying to look like Madonna. [:D][:D][:D]

Madonna. She was on the cover of a textbook we used for a graduate course in semiotics that I took circa '89. I dunno if Gwen ever had such an honor.

This would have been alot tougher to answer ten years ago but now I have to say, Madonna!I personally find Madonna to be a very strong woman and a good business women (forget the kabbala nonsense though) she's been in the industry for over 20 years and good for her! I've liked her since she first came out and have her latest album too. As for Gwen Stefani I used to love her in No Doubt and I can even put up with some of her solo stuff but I have heard her latest single and it sucks dick, sounds like that tuneless urban crap mindless naive teens play, the stuff that makes you feel homicidal when you have to listen to it on a bus ride! She is so much of a sell-out it is unreal, it seems like she is just making crap trendy 'music' and I can't see any of the old No Doubt rock fans respecting her now, I have lost alot of respect for her as a musical artist. At least Madonna always did dance music and still writes proper songs. Plus even the Gwen dolls are cheap-looking and over-priced. (I think a Barbie My scene doll with changeable outfits would have been more Gwen, I actually ahve one that looks like her LOL!)Mind you she does kinda look like a doll, it's strange she's nearly 40 and she dresses like a little girl on stage, mmm. Mind you you've gotta admire her gawl for wearing a house! I was disappointed by her fashion-line too it's obviously aimed at rich bitches who probably have never heard of skapunk and think rock fans are trash! no way could her real fans afford those clothes! Mind you I do admire Madonna and Gwen for wearing what they want at their age! I also think Gwen's hubby is cute, he used to be more famous than her once, shame it didn't stay that way, she might not have sold-out so bad![V] [:D]
Can't vote for either... IF I did vote, I guess Madonna, even though I used to manage No Doubt before they made it big...

WHAT??? you use to manage NO DOUBT?
[/quote]

Yes, from 1987 to 1989! Then they broke big and hard, but they had to leave the LA Ska scene to really do it,and change the music somewhat.

I gave them their very first gig at Fender's Ballroom in Long Beach, CA opening for The Untouchables after the played about a dozen backyard parties in Orange County: Anaheim, Cypress, etc.

What enzfan said. Though I don't mind Gwen. I think I'm the only person on this site who doesn't hate the No Doubt version of "It's My Life." [;)]

I vote for Madonna. I don't care for her much any more and do really like Gwens music but Modonna sang Take a Bow, I had to choose her.

Madonna. Haven't always liked her music, but I always kind of admired her and her constant work. The constant reinventing herself, always a new image and new sound, even though, ultimately, it was always firmly entrenched in pop/dance.
I can't stand Gwen, both w/ her No Doubt days and now. Blech![xx(]
