Who is the "Master" of their Domain?

There are (surprisingly) many songs written about pleasuring oneself, with New Wave artists leading the pack. Of the more popular tunes, which...uh, holds up the best?

When "She-Bop" came out, it was a total scandal in my east TN town. My friends parents banned Cyndi from their houses. Hi-larious! Ah, we were such innocents then.

I've never heard that "Close to Me" is about THAT.

Yipes.

My kids sing along to that in the car. [:0]

Maybe "Turning Japanese" is about masturbation, maybe not.

Never thought Close To Me was about pleasuring yourself... I thought it certainly was about being nervous before having sex.
Went with New Order... I mean I'd never sing "I touch myself" or anything of a sort and I do sing "tonight I should have stayed at home...".

I thought we're talking power Bop classics. [:o)]

Hard to beat "Turning Japanese" on this list, but The Waitresses "Pocket Pool" deserves a whack. Among modern tracks, The Dresden Dolls "Coin Operated Boy" deserves a good hand for keeping the theme alive and well.
