On the other hand MY Personal favorite TOP 4 are very different. They are as follows...

I think the original question asks to pick 4 representatives of the NW era to be on Mount Rushmore, not 4 groups. New Order is a great group but no individual in it is famous enough or larger than life enough to be considered. The Smiths has Morrissey who's idolized around the world, so he would be a good choice for this.
