My New Wave Valentine - The Best Love Songs

Now that I have finished my 80's Dance Party MP3 disc, inspired by a few recent threads I want to put together an MP3 disc of Love Songs.

Now I know there are plenty of sappy love songs out there, but 80s New Wave and alternative offer much more than that. Some sappiness is good in moderation, but I want to put together a disc that includes the broad range of emotions that come with love and relationships:

- Infatuation,
- seduction,
- lust,
- jealousy,
- sympathy,
- devotion,
- hope,
- joy,
- uncertainty,
- disappointment,
- seperation,
- heartbreak,
- sorrow,
- and heartache.

Most of the songs I'm thinking of I didn't like when originally released as I was too young at the time to appreciate the themes.

My preliminary list includes a lot of ABC, Crowded House / Split Enz, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran / Arcadia, Elvis Costello, Howard Jones, INXS, Soft Cell / Marc Almond, New Order, Roxy Music, Spandau Ballet, Squeeze, Tears For Fears, The (English) Beat / General Public, The B-52's (yes, actually), The Cars, The Cure, The Police, Thompson Twins, U2.

I've already got a dance disc, so I'm looking for tunes with a more measured pace.
