I always watch to see what people are wearing. But Ugly Betty won 2 awards and IMO they deserve it. Great show!
Anybody watch it?

All I can say is America the Beautiful!

I have a soft spot for cuties like her and she was looking very good at the Globes....

My wife got me hooked on that Ugly Betty show and i'm glad it won!

I wonder when will Robert De Niro will receive the Cecil B. De Mille Award??

The scariest thing I saw while watching the Golden Globes was a commercial for the AARP featuring the Buzzcocks' "Everybody's Happy Nowadays".

I wasn't imagining things....has anyone else seen that?

Vanessa Williams looks great! Spaz and me see her on Ugly Betty and she is hot. I too have a soft spot for the underdog so I really got into the show. Its like a more fun type of soap opera. I love the show.

Wolverine, why can't you move next door to me already? You have the best movie nights, good friends, and now you like betty too? Why so far away?
People that never saw the show laugh when I say I watch it. But I totally love the show. I guess being in her position when I was younger, I really feel her pain too. When she tried her new makeover at work, then Will starts to make fun of her in front of the whole office? Just for the look on her face while she had to stand there and smile while it was killing her, she should get more awards. I wanted to go to Mode and kick Wills ass! Oh wait, its just a show.
The writers keep the drama going for the whole hour with great twists.

Ugly Betty is the north american version of a colombian soap called "Betty, la fea", which means exactly the same.
It was a big success when it came out in the whole Latin America...

And if the show respects the original book, then I know the end to it. Hehehe...

American series aren't like other countries - we generally don't put a show out with a definite ending in sight. The networks here want to milk it for all it's worth and uncerimoniously dump it when it runs out of steam & becomes a dried out old husk or it's former self.

Even shows that supposedly have an ending (X-files, Lost, Sopranos, etc.) will linger on far beyond their anticipated end date.

Mechi...Betty La Fea is a big hit here in the Philippines, subtitled in Tagalog. Some of our entertainers are imitating her. And when she's not in those ugly make up, she's really beautiful. That telenovela is made in Mexico right?

No, the original telenovela was made in Colombia. Yes, the actress that plays Betty it's actually pretty and I'ms sure the US Betty must be really pretty too without all that disguise.
Then, there's a Mexican version to it but the name of the character is Letty instead of Betty.
