Gino Vannelli

Gino Vannelli released a new wave-influenced lp in the mid 80's entitled Black Cars. The title song was a small hit on the radio and in dance clubs.

It was never released on cd in the US and the import is hard to find.

I'm looking for a few tracks:
The Other Man
It's Over
Here She Comes
How Much

Seeing as Gino is From Montreal, you should have checked online retailers in Canada...lots available here.

We got sick of Gino a long time ago, hence the stockpile.

Hi space...Black Cars was indeed released in the US on disc, as was his follow-up, Big Dreamers Never Sleep. I have both, and will post the tracks you asked for a little later. Look forward...

Black Cars was issued in the US on disc by One Way Records, which also included the 12" version of "Black Cars". I have the Dreyfus CD issue, which was the original and doesn't include any bonus tracks. What I would LOVE to find an MP3 of is the 7" version of "Hurts To Be In Love". It's a bit different--better--than the LP version. I have a few Vannelli comps, but none--which I had hoped--included this single version. Anyway, enjoy these!

Wow - how cool! Thanks for posting these songs. Haven't heard them in about 20 years.

Was there ever a 12" version of In the Name of Money?

Thanks so much for posting and for the info!

I have a 12" vinyl of "In The Name Of Money", just over 5 minutes, but I don't have it on MP3. Otherwise, I'd share it. It's not bad, but when I heard it I thought much more could have been with it. Kinda disappointing. The LP version has a lot more punch and depth than the mix. The older I get the fonder I am of the original version of a song--especially anything out these days!

Two things I thought I'd never hear in the same sentence: Gino Vannelli and new wave. LOL!

The music you listen to is the soundtrack of your life.

I could probably walk into any used cd store in Calgary and find a ton of these - let me know if you want me to pick one up (of course I would have to wear a disguise so no one would recognize me!)
