Name That Tune Volume 18

Name That Tune Volume 18[/b]

Time for the first Name That Tune[/b] game of 2005. As always I've tried to balance the difficulty, but frankly I'm unsure about just how widely known some of the songs and groups are in the later parts of the game. This could be a cakewalk for some or simply brutal. I guess we shall see. In either case, I hope everybody has some fun with this. All of the tracks are the standard single or album versions, except for the very last song (#25), which is an Extended Mix. [8D]

As usual there are a total of 25 songs clips. The game is on a 100 points basis (2 point for artist, 2 point for title). There are 2 seconds of silence between song clips. Download your response form below and email it to me for tabulation when you're finished (my email address is on the form). Make sure to put your forum screen names on your answers, so I know who you are. I will send the Answer Sheet to everyone who sends me their responses (if you don't hear from me within 24 hours, I probably didn't get your email). Don't post your responses here!

Here's the link for the response form (my email address is on it):

Here's the song sampler link:
NameThatTune18.mp3

The game will end on Friday January 21 at 4PM EST[/b].

Good Luck! [:)]

BTW: Don't forget to download the stumper songs from NTT17. They won't be there for long! [8D]

Game Update[/b]

This game has had a pretty good response rate so far. We're already down to just a few stumpers remaining (#18, #19, #21) and a song title on one more (#24). Good job everybody! [:)]
Currently the average score is 56 points.

56 points for me. How did I not get #16?

Any chance you could include how many participants there were at the end of this and future games Fritz?

Wozgo:

Don't feel bad, after about the third hour of banging my head into the wall, it finally came to me (video and all). Problem is, the banging knocked out just about all the other answers!!

12 right at best.

It's amazing how much you forget

Fritz-

As we approach NTT 20, any thoughts of summarizing the results for the whole series (I know you haven't done all of them, but most of them). e.g. average score, who has the highst average etc.?
Just a thought; I know you put a lot of effort int

Mid-Game Update[/b]

NTT18 seems to be off to a real good start. I have 15 responses so far with an average score of 55 points. Only one stumper remains (#19) and one more still needs a correct song title (#24). Not bad at all! [8D]

The game e

Here are the complete results for NTT18, along with the percentage of correct answers of those who sent me responses. This was not a particularly easy game, but we had a record nu

So, at 21 players, and with 95% getting the Naked Eyes tune right... I must be the only lout who missed it. How embarassing, as I own 2 copies of the 12".

Don't sweat it, eight6. I can't tell you how many times I've played this game, and didn't guess a song I have in my own collection. It's gotten to a point where I'm trying to commit every instrumental portion of a song to memory, but it's just not worki
