just seeing a bomb squad guy gingerly handling "Err the Mooninite" (who's flicking off, no doubt) kills me.

here's what they really are:

What I don't get is why was there such a panic in Boston, while the other ten cities where these objects were placed had no problems?

Someone in Mayor Thomas Menino's office must have flicked off the memo.

No kidding! Now there's talk of "recourse" and "legal action." What a joke.

What I find hysterical is that there was (or still is?) a HUGE IMPOSSIBLE TO MISS billboard of Err overlooking I-93, en route to Boston. It was up there since November.

I understand they had these in NYC also. Nothing was shut down here; just the normal outrageousness of everyday NYC [:D]

I roll my eyes when hearing about all these so-called terror threats. Only to wait around a bit afterwards to find the real story of hoaxes, lies and plain paranoid delusions. This one took the cake.[:o)]

Pretty sad. The fact that Boston authorities wasted all this time & effort (and consequently $$$) and still couldn't determine the significance of this admittedly unorthodox marketing blitz. Maybe they need to hire more college interns that can help clue them in to what's going on in the world around them. It's as if the city was run by a bunch of Dwight Schrute's who can be punk'd at the drop of a hat.[:D] Of course, now they are all publicly embarASSed and so now it's payback time![xx(]

Classic AP photo on the CNN website:
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f122/pjsaturno/vt1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a>

Apparently Rob Zombie was involved.... they don't look like they are too worried !

2 plead not guilty to creating panic with ad stunt
Two men pleaded not guilty today to charges they created panic by placing "bomblike" electronic light boards displaying a cartoon character with an upraised middle finger throughout Boston. Assistant Attorney General John Grossman called the light boards "bomblike" devices and said that if they had been explosive they could have damaged infrastructure and transportation in the city.
