Regardless of the validity of Tigers post. It was still demeaning in a way to another board member. I thought that was the kind of stuff that is supposed to be settled offline. Marie should have addresses Tiger on that one.

As far as the Tigers point being valid. I was refering to the fact that maybe Geogie could make an effort to proof them if its pissing off all "grammar police." As far as his posts being worthless, there seems to be a lot of good music talk going on in his threads and I personally have found 2 greats songs that I had totaly forgotten about thanks to his threads. And thats all I've got to say about that.

You'll have to ask Marie but I read it as her addressing georgie for posting this TOPIC as opposed to sending eight6 an e-mail. After all, georgie's post was directed specifically at eight6, telling him to grow up, so he actually was the first to call anyone out. My thought was marie was just a bit late to the game but doing her job as soon as she saw the post. Had georgie not started it, tiger would have never had to respond. Just my thoughts...

She did come in late in the game. I think we had already agreed that the thread was uncalled for. Marie should have seen that it was spinning off into a forum to bash the guy, like so many other thread that turn into name calling arenas.

And as much as this thread should have been an email from George to Eight6 there is also the last line of Georges intitial statement so eloquently put "please remember we're all here to have fun & not to put each other down"

This is the way threads start where eventually MikeP pops in and tells everyone to lighten up, is it not?

Not that it's anyones business, but I did already email georgie and eight6 last week when this topic came about.

I guess Ben feels I was going after georgie in my post. That is not the case. I think he genuinely loves music and is enthusiastic about the subject. It's just time to let this go. Georgie is new, and obviously has his own way of posting. Hopefully he can work it out.

I guess I'm wrong in the fact that after all was said and done the name calling continued which is what I thought we as a forum were trying to stop here.

The guy does made a lot of lame ass, list inducing posts. If there's one thing this site could use less of is list inducing posts. On top of that, he's demonstrated a degree of sensitivity previously known only amongst archipelago dwellers. So what if a few of us took a bit of the piss out of him...it's a valuable learning tool. Next time, he'll know not to start threads like this, he should instead e-mail the person he has a problem with, which is exactly what Marie instructed him to do.

Tiger was both direct and accurate with his posts, as were all other contributors here. In fact, the only guy all over the place in this thread is you.

As far as being all over the place, to me there are two sides of the coin in this case.

One side was this thread, which again I said was uncalled for and that George should take the mods good advice and that it would be interesting to see what George does with that advice.

The otherside which are Georges music threads that were in question with a few of the forum members. My response to that was I liked them. "Rock Bands that released New Wave songs", "Your favorite German Band". I'll agree that not all were to my taste but for the most part his threads have all had positive responses in them aside from some sarcastic posts. I just don't see a problem with any of his threads and I sure dont see any need for any kind of forum to bash the guy for them. Like its been said a million times before just ignore them if you dont like them. If he is a troll, which I dont know if he is one way or the other, he will eventually dig his own grave.

Tiger added a third side with his post which in my opinion seemed to be of no significance and a contradiction to the "If you have a problem with someone email them".

If you two want to take "a bit of the piss out of him" go for it. Or you could ignore it and start a different thread about music or something funny, in other words something worthwhile.

You know Ben, that is total bullshit...even for you. This thread, which was initiated by him, was the genesis for the bashing. His extreme sensitivity is what took offence at whatever the hell it was I posted. (I [i]still[/i] don't know what I posted that was so offensive)

Save your "ignore it" speech for him... he'd benefit from it far more than I would. You might want to throw in the bit about "worthwhile posts" while you're at it. It couldn't hurt...or could it?

Thats alright 86 I realize credibility on these boards is hard to come by. I know a lot of my threads are dumb and pointless big deal. I come here for fun and enjoy posting and reading other peoples threads whether it's one of Philly's funny storys about asia chicks or frayos freaky quest for KFC or Motors Idiot of the week, I have fun.
