well, I finally thought of a topic. do you think new wave was better then or now with the "New Wave revival" in circulation?

IMO- New Wave is a dated genre where the musicians and the stylings were uniquely relevant to the time period of the late 70's to mid 80's. Perhaps there may be a (Neo?) New Wave revival or a blending of genres (remember 80's rockabilly and the more recen

There are a few new neo new wave bands that I really like alot:
The Epoxies
Adult
Magas
Ladytron
Freezepop
I really wouldn't call any of them New Wave per sey, but they are all taking influences from New Wave and doing something with it. Unfort

Some of the bands are good at what they do. The Faint are excellent, their Danse Macabre is about as close to authentic 80s wave as any Gen-X'ers have gotten. Interpol do a great JD aping. Turn On The Bright Lights was inspired but Antics kinda lost my in

also listen to The Sounds or The Rapture they're many good new (new wave?) bands out there.

Unless I can turn back time (um, isn't that a Cher song?) Neo-Wave will never be the soundtrack to my adolescence and young adulthood, so I'll never think Neo is as good as New.

I think Stimulator is a pretty good band that upholds the classic new wave sound, and The Rosenbergs are quite good as well. ("Crockett and Tubbs" was one of my favorite songs last year)

While I have to say THEN - after all, as stated already, it was the soundtrack of my youth, and nothing produced nowadays will be listened to, nor captured in all that glory -
