This is obviously influenced by the Monster Movie thread. I checked the archives and didn't see a recent post on this. I was fortunate (?) to grow up in a kind of "golden age" of Saturday Morning cartoons (e.g mid 70s to early 80s). I'm not sure kids do this anymore, but every saturday morning my brother and I would be up at the butt-crack of dawn to watch Bugs Bunny/Road Runner and then pretty much sat in front of the tube until about 11:00 or so (that's where the former post kicks in). So I'll ask the Outpost membership: what shows kept you glued to the tube on Saturday morning. Cheese is Ok in this thread--as I said before in the previous post, what the hell did I know about Cheesy when I was 10 years old?
I'll start:
Superfriends (all of them--even the stinkers with Wendy, Marvin, and Wonderdog)
Shazam!
Isis
Star Trek Animated (still good even today)
Lidsville (did Charles Nelson Reilly do anything but this and Match Game?)
New Adverntures of Batman
Tarzan and the Super Seven
Spiderman and his Amazing Friends (with the awful, "Spiderfriends (!) Go For IT!)
Battle of the Planets
Blackstar (kinda like He-Man only....Black)
Thundarr the Barbarian
U.S. of Archie (President Jughead? Strangely prophetic?)
Well I could go on and on (as you can tell)
I'll be putting on my abestos underpants for possible flaming (and for their snug fit...[:p])
