not only did I do that, but I also crimped that part and wore a black fedora-style hat as well. Sadly, it wasn't the early 80s. It was the LATE 80s when I did that!

In the 80's I had a fabulous collection of thrift store fashions from the 1950's. I liked to contrast the innocence of the fashions with punk accessories and spiked hair. I had four frilly party dresses that I would wear with a crinoline. One dress was strapless and I wore it with elbow length white gloves and a spiked dog collar. I turned heads. I also had campy 50's sportshirts and bermuda shorts, pedal pushers, and striped mod jeans from the 1960's ala Austin Powers. I'm really sorry that I don't have pictures of myself in any of these getups. I don't have any of the clothes anymore, either.

My big sis is a freelance abstract artist who has the same issue with mom, who can't understand why she won't paint still lifes and scenic vistas. BTW my mom had a 'mauve' 1984 Cavalier wagon with a mauve vinyl interior. (She later gave it to my sis!)[:D]
