Musically speaking, what groups were ahead of their time? The Doors, Led Zeppelin, KISS, Black Sabbath ? Anyone else?

???!!! You [i]must[/i] be related to georgie. All the bands you've listed seem to be well suited to their musical timeframe. Additionally, they were all "one of many in their genre" type groups: nothing really to distinguish them musically (well, maybe an exception for Zep) from their peers.
