Dumb Question

Discuss hard-to-find or out-of-print New Wave and '80s Alternative, and share a few songs along the way.
NOTE: requesting songs that are entirely unrelated to the genres discussed here or easily found on CD is strongly discouraged and posts will be enforced as needed.

Dumb Question

Postby birdmadgirl » Wed Mar 28, 2007 8:01 am

I've been listening to my favorite Internet radio station as much as possible lately because I doubt it'll be around much longer. [:(!]

I heard two songs yesterday that I'm trying to track down--no luck, so far.

They are: "Imagination-Resurrection Mix" by Belouis Some and "Is There Something I Should Know-Resurrection Mix" by Duran Duran.

So, for my dumb question: Is there some Resurrection Mix album out there somewhere? I'm not finding one when I search, but maybe I'm not looking for the right thing.

If these are indeed obscure enough to request, then is anyone able to share them? I doubt the DD one is. I'd never heard of Belouis Some until yesterday, so I don't know about that one...

That's not a dumb question, BMG. Maybe the two mixes were done by the same producer who calls his mixes "resurrection mixes"? It would be interesting to find out.

Do they sound like 'Razormaid' era mixes, or are they all techno-ed out? obviously white label boots, right?

The "Resurrection Mixes" seem to be the work of the Powerhouse Records remix service. You can get a quick overview of the this remix service and its competition at Remix Services - Past & Present. A track listing for their "Resurrection" (oldies) series can be found at http://www.remixservices.com
