After watching URGH! A Music War for the second time yesterday, I have myself a new discovery. I have the Sharp Cuts LP with the song "Black Haired Girl" and it's great, and the song "Nothing Means Nothing Anymore" from URGH! is amazing...my question is what are these guys up to today? anything released on CD? any info is a must!

They had a 7" on Dangerhouse that wasn't "officially" reissued a few years ago.

The Alley Cats were an LA punk band and did 2 albums:
- Nightmare City (with Black Haired Girl, Nothing means... and the brilliant Too Much Junk)
- Escape From The Planet Earth (which I don't like)
After this, they took a different name "The Zarkons" and released a mini-lp and an album. I have only found one mp3 of the Zarkons on the net (Heart Full Of Soul).
Alley Cats songs can be found on the Dangerhouse vol 1 and 2 compilations, the albums haven't been released on cd yet and are very hard to find on vinyl.

Great time to bring this band up. They released their first single on this date in 1978 ("Nothing Means Nothing Anymore"/"Give Me A Little Pain"). It was on the Dangerhouse record label. Later, they went to I.R.S. records.

Actually, I just had these in my hands last night (the Dangerhouse vol 1 and 2 are available on CD and can be found here:

Saw The Alley Cats perform a few times on campus pub, The Nugget at Cal State Univ. Long Beach in the early '80s! They rocked and opened for such bands as: The Suburban Lawns, The Go-Go's, The Textones, and The Plimsouls at CSULB.

I saw the Alley Cats open for Fear in L.A. I don't remember the club but they were great. I didn't see much of Fear though as a couple of skinheads came in and started a fight and I got tossed out. These days it's a fond memory...LOL.
