Best Icehouse song game: We Can Get Together

New Wave/Punk music, culture, genres, memories. '80s revivalism and other relevant topics.

WCGT was the first Icehouse song I ever heard, on vacation to New York when I was in high school. Made me a lifelong fan of Iva Davies' work. Didn't get to see them live until 1987, on the Man of Colours tour.

Yeah, but the band originally called themselves The Flowers, so it could have been OK...

Awaiting word on the Extended Version of WCGT... meanwhile, I saw Icehouse in 1982 on US tour of Icehouse album, and again in 1984 for the tour promoting "Sidewalk." Both great shows, yet I loved the more raw, power pop first tour the best!

I didn't know there was an extended version. Is it being rereleased?

Well, I asked the question, as I have never seen any mention of an extended version of WCGT, and it's never made any discography I've ever seen on the Internet... but further up on this thread, page 1, DJ Phoenix refers to having a DJ friend with an extended version in his/her possession... well, I guess we'll see... DJ Phoenix any luck getting it???

It appears that Great Southern Land was not actually voted out.
Therefore I vote out We Can Get Together, and I guess that makes Great Southern Land the winner. Not taken any thing away from We Can Get Together because it is a brilliant song...lol [:D]

Stranded, as much as I like both songs, the first album is closer to me heart, that Primitive Man, also an awesome album, and Great Suthern Land is in second place... Does that hurt too much! [;)]
