Don Imus vs. Rev. Al

Postby phillyidol » Tue Apr 10, 2007 4:54 am

OK, you all read the news, what do you think?
I will shock you all. I do hate rev. al and see him for what he is, a trouble making, racist phony that just stirrs up more shit. BUT....I feel Imus was wrong with his statements and should be punished.........BUT....I feel that if he is punished, ALL racist comments should be addressed. So if it is wrong to say something about a black basketball player, then it is just as wrong to make fun of white people as being docker wearing nerds that are nervouse around women and can't dance. You get my point. Justice for EVERYONE.
And if that was true which it should be, then Rev Al would be in jail for what he has said in the past.
Peace out niggas....oops![;)]

Where was Sharpton when Michael Irvin said that someone in Tony Romo's family must have slept with a black slave in the past to be able to play the way he does? If he's gonna yell racist at Don Imus (which I agree he was wrong to say what he said) he has to do the same thing and call for Irvin's firing.

Imus is an idiot but punish him..??? Hmmm, guess we would need to punish every comic that ever made a joke about another race and think about all the rappers and record labels and radio stations that spew their vile gangsta message about bitches and ho's etc.
What I find the most funny, isn't Imus a "Shock Jock?" Seems to me he finally did his job and now they are punishing him.
He looks like he's 87 years old anyway. I think I'll take him in the death pool.

I don't like the Rev., either. (Jesse Jackson is another shit-stirring jackass).

Imus should not be punished. He should not have to apologize over and over and over. He said it, he apologized, let it go. He looks like a fool, but the people who keep howling about it look pretty damn dumb, too.

Let someone make a disparaging remark toward a white person and let's see what happens. Nothing, that's what. That's acceptable.

I love it when people are all for free speech until they get offended... [:(!]

I'll begrudgingly give Al a tiny bit of credit for rebuking Imus when he called himself a cracker. I think he said something like "I'd appreciate if you didn't denigrate your race either on my show." It's posturing, but whatever. I listen to Imus off and on - can't take too much of his smug ass. But he had to know that "nappy-headed ho's" was WAY out there. The suspension is fine. The advertisers and guests that he relies on can speak with their feet - let the market take of this.

If Al sharpton is the moral barometer of this country then help us all. I don't mean to come across as I'm racially insensitive but why is it what Imus said pales in contrast to the lyrics of alot of rap and hip hop when it comes to slang and negativity but Imus gets jumped on? Why do whites have to take everything that is said by all other races on the chin, yet we can't apologize enough to make over a dumb comment? So the next time Chris Rock says something about dumb bimbo white chicks we should ask him to talk to Ann coulter and apologize to Jessica Simpson.
jeez get over it already.

How can anyone take this Sharpton clown seriously? Isn't this the same brainwave who oversaw the Tawana Brawley thing?

Sharpton has little room to put peoples feet to the fire over racism and bigotry. With the previously mentioned Brawley incident he is also indirectly responsible for the deaths of at least eight persons with his faning of the racial flames against Jewish Americans. The Crown Heights episode where a Jewish cab driver accidently struck and killed a black child resulted in his planned prostests through the neighborhood and the stabbing death of a Jewish man during the rally. Also the Freddy Fashion Mart protests that lead to a man entering the store and shooting to death four then setting the store on fire resulting in three more deaths all after one of Al's associates suggested the shop should be burned to the ground. He trained at the feet of Rev Jackson who pretends not to be anti semetic. All and all Sharpton is a publicity hound and a steaming pile of dung.

Funny, that pretty much sums up how I see the guy...mind you I'm basing it on the limited number of times I've seen him on TV, mostly CNN where, as far as I can tell, he is their resident expert on being Black. He adds nothing of substance to any interview/debate in which he's involved.

Not the guy I want speaking for me.

Both Sharpton and Jackson need to get a life. I was watchin Patrice Oneil last night, or whatever that web junk guys name is--he thought the nappyheaded ho's comment was a riot.
Isnt it about time for another scandel involving Jackson and or Sharpton to come to light anyway? Maybe another few illegitimate kids or something?

Fuck Sharpton and Jackson. This ain'g about them. I'd be helaciously pissed off if my college daughter - at the tender age of 17 to 21 - just got done giving everything she had to a pretty fucking amazing acomplishment and then get home only to have some old-ass ignorant fucktard call her a nappy-headed ho! I would be LOSING it!!! How are they ho's in any way? How is pointing out that they're "nappy-headed" anything but an ignorant racist remark that deserves a smack? How the fuck is any equivilence between Imas and the other two losers any part of the equation of this conversation? Fuck the other context - this is this and that is that and this is pretty fucked up and ignorant IMHO.
