Songs ...within a song

I heard a few songs recently that had clips of other songs in them.

Big Audio Dynamite's - "Rush" has a little "Baba O'Reilly" in it.
also "Contact" has a bit of "I Can't Explain". I guess that Shea Stadium gig with The Who left an impression on Mick.

Then I noticed Thompson Twins "Love on our side" had their own "In the name of love" tossed in.

Any others come to mind?

I guess The Smiths had quite a few of these...

"Take Me Out To Dear Olde Blighty" was the intro to "The Queen Is Dead"
"old anxine" was the ending of "Asleep"
"Sonny Boy" -was in the middle of "Hand That Rocks the cradle"

if your talking about straight up 'samples' there are hundreds...

Yep, Mick & The Letts Bros. sure loved to throw in song and cinematic dialogue samples into many of their BAD tunes. (interesting theory about the possible Who gig influence)

A few others that come to mind

NKC's 'When I Fall In Love' provides a scratchy vinyl intro on Pop Will Eat Itself's 'There Is No Love Between Us Any More'

Utah Saints 'Something Good' uses a snippet of Kate Bush's 'Cloudbusting'

This one's a stretch: On The Dead Milkmen's 'Bitchin Camaro' a little improvised bit of the Doors 'Love Me Two Times' gets used (er, butchered by the band).

On a related novelty tune note:
Angel And The Reruns piece of 80's cheese 'Buffy Come Back To Me' was a direct take off on the 60's TV show theme 'A Family Affair' (plus a little bit of the Patty Duke Show theme) as well as The Rocky & Bullwinkle show theme coda on Boris Badenough's 'Hey Rocky'[:o)]

As I recall "Just a giggolo" by Barbie & the Kens has a bit of the James Bond riff in it also.

There's a jukebox playing (I think) "Play that Funky Music White Boy" at the beginning of "We Are the Nowtones" by Blotto.

I can't remember which Beatle tune starts off "The Beatles and the Stones" by House of Love.

In OMD's "Dancing" there is an orchestra playing a jazzy melody before the synths hit...

In "Stay Up Late" by the Talking Heads David Byrne inserts a little of The Temptations' "Ain't Too Proud to Beg"

Then there are all the songs the Ian McCulloch riffs on in the middle of the long fantastic live version of Echo & The Bunnymen's "Do It Clean":

Patti Smith's "Land" (which is drawing from The Chris Kenner/Wilson Picket song "Land of 1000 Dances")

Smart Patrol/ Mr.DNA by Devo: two different songs joined together, with a little of "Smart Patrol" repeated at the end of "Mr. DNA" just in case you forgot the previous song!

And of course..."Boredom" at the beginning of The Buzzcocks' "Fast Cars"....
