yeah, you are right, SwampThing. Martyrs by definition do embolden and inspire others. All that stuff we hear from the Middle East that fills our nightly news--those suicide bombers are aspiring to be martyrs. I just saw this piece about how more and more women are being used (or are personally volunteering) as suicide bombers. I recall all the joking comments on this board a while back about the 70 virgins that await the bomber in heaven (or whatever it's referred to in Islam). So you are correct in pointing out that this movement is indeed alive and well in the world today. I didn't mean to be snide. I meant that for myself: NO.

If you are a christian or not....the story did happen. Jesus was a man killed by the romans and it was documented.
But I am with the others that said they don't want those pictures in their heads. But I will see it anyway sooner or later. I love history too so that will make it better for me. It really is scary that people were killed like that and in worse ways in the past.

<br>well, thanks BMG for that[:)]. But therein lies the rub. See, what they claim and show Christ went through, isn't that a turn off

its obvious that eight6 is not a believer in Christ & how Christ can change his life....if he thinks it's just fiction (hey,,,to be an atheist, you still have to believe in something)
hey eight6,,,you are now on my church's prayer list so you have lot's of people praying for you....i love ya ,,man !!!!! CHRIST loves you !!!!!!
watch the movie,i'm sure it'll change your life,if it dosent change your life,it will at least get you thinkin about JESUS and what He did for you.
like i said...."JESUS will leave the flock to get the 1 that strayed away"....

[br]i was just wandering on who all saw the Passion Of The Christ and if you liked it or hated it ???
as a christian,i think it was an awesome movie!!!!!
when the passion first came out,my church in fla.,at the time, rented out 3 of stadium seating theatres in the multi plex & my church also gave to the local hard core rap station in town free tickets to the movie in which the radio station actually gave out 100 tickets to their listeners which was awesome.,especially for a ministry tool etc...
our pastor told the congregation to invite 3 unsaved (non christian) friends or family members to the movie.
i remember, out of the 3 theatres, there were at least 7 people in each theatre that gave their lives/hearts to Jesus Christ from watching the movie !!!!
that's awesome, cause if only 1 person gave their life to Christ from watching the passion, then that's all that matters.
sometimes you have to leave the 99 to get the 1.
The Passion Of The Christ got me back on that path with Christ.....
it's actually one of my all-time favorite films.
i was wandering if the film had an impact on your life or someone you know?????

pure and simplUnsaved...how hilarious!! The movie was just that: a movie. Fiction e. I'm sure Mel had the same thought as you..."if only 1 person gave their life to Christ from watching the passion, then that's all that matters." Oh yeah, and the millions he no doubt scraped out of the wallets of gullible clods like you had a bit to do with it as well.

Do me a favor..."save" your sig...

This is what it will look like when you figure it out:

I refuse to watch the movie on the principle I dont' liek movies that depict Christ really. I was baptised Roman Catholic so the Crhistian side of me refuses to haev anythign to do with it. The bible is good enough for me.I actually ahave a plan to read it all the way through. I also am interested in newage, I am a bit agnostic really but liek to think that we go someplace better than this hell when we die, I actually believe this world coudl be hell...[:(][xx(]Somebody once said they coudln't figure whether I was atheist or creationist. I think that if ther eis a God who made the entire universe that you've gotta consider there is likely to be sentient life on other planets due to the law of averages and they are also God's creations. They may or may not look like us and what abotu the dinosaurs, God obviosuly liekd them as they were around forever then he had this crazy idea to turn apes into humans and give them freewill...[:D]

Like most stupid-assed arch-conservatives, do you only USE scripture when it suits your purpose? lol

There are quite a few people who are still waiting for you to answer the "endangering the troops" statement you made about Rosie O'Donnell. Haven't your Republican Overlords faxed you that page for your playbook yet, jughead?
FREE WILL....I sometimes wonder about that? We ARE individuals yet we are community, society, teams etc.. What are these forces that influence our free will? Is free will something the human race is proud of? Then why do we restrict others so much? Is free will just a dream of ours? Individual delusions if you will? How do we know that there is not a force of balance that controls our very thoughts? A force of attraction, of passion? Of hatred? The whole spectrum of emotions? It can't all be free will now could it? Those forces have great infuence over us. Angels and Demons.
