Guilty Pleasures!

What do you do, not very often, that makes you feel great?
Treat yourself to dinner?
Night out with friends?
Stay in bed all day?

Mine? I like to spend money. I go all year pinching pennies. I hardly spend anything. But once or twice a year, I splurge on myself. Today I bought myself a nice watch. I don't know, but it is almost a high for me.
What about you guys?

It makes me feel great but they say if you don't stop you'll go blind, hell I am already wearing glasses. Beyond that something as simple as picking up a box of baseball cards usually suffices.

Throw a party! whether it's a smaller happy-hour type party, or a big event, once every few months, we'll invite all our friends, gather all this food, grill for hours, select & play some great CDs, cook up a batch of magic muffins, throw pillows & chairs all over the backyard and the back porch and house, and just socialize and let loose for a few hours. The thrill of putting aside your cares and worries for that amount of time is rejuvenating.[:)]

eBay! It's amazing how many chicks will buy something, wear it once, and then sell it. I've gotten a lot of good deals of stuff I don't really need. [:I]

I also like reading internet celebrity gossip.

I will read just about any fiction that's in print. I like literary novels but I will happily read lousy mysteries and bad sci-fi/fantasy. I do love a good trashy Judith Krantz-style "shop & fuck" novel.

Finally, here's my real guilty pleasure: I pay someone else to clean my house! And sometimes I go get a pedicure while she's doing it!

I give myself a girly day every so often. I'll go get my nails done (finally quit biting them!), go get my hair cut, take myself shopping, etc. It's nice to just do something (or several somethings) for myself sometimes.

Hex, I'd LOVE to get someone to clean my house while I'm out dolling up myself, but I'm the kind of person who'd clean house before the cleaning lady came over. [:I]

That's funny, because that's what WE do too! When we get moved out there we'll have to work out a plan over who hosts when . . . LOL
