Anyone doing Coachella?

Discussions about the new generations of bands influenced by '80s New Wave and Postpunk

Anyone doing Coachella?

Postby Frau_Blucher » Tue Apr 17, 2007 11:33 pm

It's a pretty rigoursly indie lineup and perhaps the best Coachella one I've ever seen. The only weird thing is that the headliners for each night aren't anywhere near as good as the rest of the lineup - Bjork, Chili Peppers and a reunited Rage Against the Machine? Come on! Some pretty amazing names among the rest though. Goddamn I wish I could find a way to go.

Interpol
the Jesus and Mary Chain
Arctic Monkeys
Jarvis Cocker
Sonic Youth
Faithless
DJ Shadow
Of Montreal
Benny Benassi
Amy Winehouse
Noisettes
the Arcade Fire
the Decemberists
the Good, The Bad and The Queen
Kings of Leon
the Rapture
LCD Soundsystem
the New Pornographers
!!!
Hot Chip
Peter Bjorn & John
Fountains of Wayne
Jack's Mannequin
Sparklehorse
the Fratellis
Air
Happy Mondays
Paul van Dyk
Crowded House
Kaiser Chiefs
Placebo
the Lemonheads
Lily Allen
Amos Lee
VNV Nation
Klaxons

I don't see why not. They were given an all-expenses account and villa in the Caribbean to brush up on their music and show up at the festival. What could possibly go wrong?! [:D][:D][:D]

I was planning on going with some friends, wives were going shopping, etc. but after SXSW, the intimacy of seeing bands like that just completely soured me on the whole festival thing, crowds, heat, lines, etc. so we are going to pass. I'd rather prepare for next year's SXSW!

I'd love to go as well. Great to see my buddies VNV Nation on the line-up!
