MikeP, your previous effort was worthless because it didn't say anything. You've made it clear in off-list e-mails that you're unhappy with douchebags who use NWO as their own sad bullying grounds. You've even dared to support Rick Nelson as a New Wave-related artist. Go ahead and post those same opinions here. We don't think of you as the principal, but you've certainly earned more respect than these guys who want to take Georgie's lunch money.

The man set up this forum for us and I'm not going into the whole "we're here for the music" talk", but for god's sake, enough. Take it off line where it belongs. If you think Mike P.'s previous effort was "worthless", then go away.

And you know what, like Mike P. said, he pays for this out of his own pocket. I give him credit for keeping this going with all the b.s. going on. I hope he doesn't get pissed off enough that he does shut the outpost down.

Don't worry, Marie. If MikeP shuts down the NWO, I'm sure you can find some other place to make your own bold declarations of what is and isn't New Wave. (Sorry for ever bringing up The Rubinoos, by the way.) As for MikeP, I certainly respect all the fun he brings to NWO with his taste in moderators.

Count me in with those who want to keep this site going, appreciate Mike P and all the members who have donated time and money to this experience. (I'm guessing the donations are not what they need to be to cover Mike's expenses [B)]).

Anyways I'm one of those who believes threads about Rick Nelson cheapens the experience here. If it were up to me I'd probably moves such threads to "-Not Necessarily New Wave—". Personnel attacks also cheapen the experience, but I don't have a solution for the verbal warfare that takes place every so often.

A few times a year a thread like this goes into the toilet, people leave, people threaten to leave, some like me stick it out knowing it will soon pass.

Whoever could have locked the topic? If this mystery requires me to put on my Sherlock Holmes cap, why then I might deduce it was marie, what, considering she was the last person to post in it. And who was the fourth person to wish waukena a warm welcome back? Again, marie. So why exactly was this thread started? So waukena can sequester mod impeachment of somebody who, last week, gave him warm wishes? Oh, right. waukena no longer has short-term memory. I forgot.

So as not to make this look like the ass-eel-kiss post of the year, it really doesn't make a difference to me anymore if Mike takes his ball and goes home -- or makes weekly posts threatening to take his ball and go home. Sometimes the fish stinks from the head. This won't be the end-all-be-all as far as new wave music related forums are concerned. Perhaps its inevitable replacement won't play blatant (and questionable) favoritism. I'm not really sure who the "usual suspects" are, but I have a feeling none of them are the ones who totally soured me on the NWO.

P.S. If a certain someone is going to accuse me of having my period, I suggest destroying the evidence in the thread first and prevent any possibility of looking like a massive hypocrite.

Swamp brings up a great point. This happens every year. Just with different people. We all get over it and move on. This is a great place so lets remember its just a board. (am I really saying this?) I remember getting phone calls from some board members who wanted to calm me down and remind me of that. I used to take everything to heart and came close to.........(cough cough) meeting a few of you. I learned to just have fun here and I'm a better person for it. (and you are all safer)

I love this place! Thank you Mike P once again for putting this place up.

I read the whole thread. I read marv's post. I also read other posts in the thread taking Marv to task about certain things. Sometimes people cover for each other. Whoever technically pushed the lock button, they were obviously on the same page when it came to the decision. Marie locks threads, too, you know. And, no, I couldn't care less that the thread was locked -- georgie started it, after all -- but I'm just saying.
