How true? Who gets offended? What do you think in light of the Al Sharpton stuff going on?

Nobody out there saying much on Imus' behalf these days, but the logic of this piece is hard to refute... I'd like to hear Rev. Sharpton's or Jesse Jackson's take on this one....

Someone finally said it.

How many are actually paying attention to this?

There are African Americans, Mexican Americans,

Asian Americans, Arab Americans, Native Americans, etc.

And then there are just Americans.

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.

You Call me "White boy," "Cracker," "Honkey,"

"Whitey," "Caveman" .. And that's OK.

But when I call you, Nigger, Towel head, Sand-nigger,

Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink ... You call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you,

So why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?

You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King

Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi You have the NAACP.

You have BET.

If we had WET (White Entertainment Television) . We'd be racists.

If we had a White Pride Day .. You would call us racists.

If we had White History Month We'd be racists.

If we had any organization for only whites to "advance" OUR lives .

We'd be racists.

We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of

Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.

Wonder who pays for that?

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships

... You know we'd be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed

Black Colleges in the US , yet if there were "White colleges" .

THAT would be a racist college.

From the law and posing a threat to society . You call him a racist.

I am proud.

But, you call me a racist.

Why is it that only whites can be racists?

You racists. I do this dance all the time... never gotten a satisfactory answer yet. The best one is so far is...that's just the way it is. My wife's family are the worst...whitey is responsible for much of the world's angst. I like when they cite the U.S. (white nation) as the main culprit.

Yeah, it's all the fault of the white people. That explains why everyone wants to keep moving to white countries. I'm still looking for a country of non-whites that people flock to.

Here's the deal with this. The Civil Rights Movement was all about "equality." Which is all well and good, and don't get me wrong, it needed to happen.

But the problem is, equality was never acheived. Instead, there was a new term applied to blacks (which has since been adopted by several other groups as well) and this term was "minority" and along with being a minority came "minorty rights." Minorities in this country (which isn't exclusively limited to African Americans) are basically told "because there are less of you, you get special treatment that everyone else doesn't get." That "eveyone else" is called the "Majority." And guess what the "Majority" are basically whites. So the short part of this equation (the word "equal" being the root word in the word "equation" the same root as the word "equality") goes less = more rights and priveledges. In this way, minorities are [i][b]NOT[/i][/b] equal, how can something be equal to something else when one thing is "minor" and another thing is "major?"The very terms used imply inequality.

So since the words "minority" and "majority" apply to citizens there never has been equality, and never will be if these terms continue to be used. I'm sick of "African Americans" and "Hispanic Americans" and "European Americans" when are we just going to call everyone "Americans?" I often wonder if other first world countries, like the UK for example, have the same race relation problems that the US has. My guess is no. This sort of dichotomy only exists in America because certain people have a selfish interest in making sure that "minority rights" continue to exist in favor of the "minorities" and racism will continue to exist as long as equality is not acheived, and as I've illustrated above, it never has been.

Well put. I'm 100% for equality. But that goes both ways. In NY, we have housing projects. Projects are neighborhoods set up for people that get discounted rent, free gas and electric and water, all of which I pay for with local taxes. The projects are the most dangerous places to go. People are shot from the roofs all the time. Most if not all people there get welfare and ssi. I get none of that.

The thing is that if you give people no reason to get a job, they wont.
Now how can 2 people be equal if one has to work and one does not?
Ok, I'm going off topic again but it is one reason for non equality in NY.
Everyone thinks it is funny to call a white guy a crack ass cracker but call a black guy anything and the news will run with the story.
I really do believe in equality. But to get it they must end welfare.

Funny story, here in NY, Russians are the latest newcomers. A russian guy stopped me and asked about the Meals on Wheels program that feeds the elderly. (I am a social worker for the aged) He said God bless America. In Russia if you don't have money or relatives to take you in, your ass is out in the street.

Oh another thing.....this whole thread is about equality not racism. If anyone takes it that way....well then this thread is true. We need a change in America before its too late.

Thanks a lot Philly, I just wrote this long f'in post that I now had to delete! I can't seem to seperate the two so I guess
I'll stay out of this one.

You only need a rudimentary understanding of American history and social constructs to understand why things are the way they are. I don't think the person who wrote the email has either.

Most likely my viewpoint is in the minority with this group but If I met somone in person that started whinning like the person who wrote that e-mail I'd laugh in their face.

I think it would be fun if on the network called WET there was a show called "The Bed"...

While I don't disagree totally, there's still places that all sorts of minorities can't go...(outside of Tiger Woods I can name you at least 10 championship golf courses that have never allowed a minority who wasn't carrying a bag)...

Rent the Sydney Poitier flick "A Raisin in the Sun" from 1961...there's a bunch of places where that plot ain't changed a lot...if the white race could celebrate all the other races out there. OK, but that ain't so in my experience...even in NYC...

Someday maybe we can all just get along...that'll prolly happen after this site just gets along...somebody put a note on my rotting corpse when that occurs please...

Yeah, PhillyIdol, we get it. This thread is about equality, not racism...specifically, your quest for equal rights to use a lot of racial slurs. Very impressive. You poor oppressed citizens have to settle for gingerly noting that Canada is becoming a non-white nation. At least now I understand why we have the New Wave Hall Monitors. NWO=Synth-pop/Industrial=Music devoid of African heritage. Maybe you guys allow for some ABC when you want to get really funky.

Somehow, I don't think any replies to this posting will manage to explain the happy, non-racist side of noting that Canada is becoming a non-white nation. I won't be checking. Just keep chatting amongst your Proud White Selves...

I think that all people should be able to get in all places. I really believe in 100% equality. But the email does hold true.

Oh Union, did I say equality to use racial slurs? No. But you just said I did. Thank you for proving my point.
