this was an awesome campain from epic records to introduce the record buying public to some new artists that epic was marketing as "new wave",that never released any albums before in the states.
since mini ep's (lp's) was the new norm back then for a newly signed (unknown) artist/band for a record label to promote etc...& offer a very nice price for the product, since the record buying public never heard of the group etc..the public was more likely to lay down $5.00 for an artist they never heard of then the normal $8.00 to $10.00 for the album.
the Nu-Disk campain also included some older artists/bands that epic was promoting/marketing under the "new wave" banner.
here's the releases that were released on the epic records/NU-DISK series, which sold for only $5.00 and each release contained 4 songs.
