Wow, where have these guys been hiding?

The Detroit Cobras' new album, "Tied And True", could be the sounrtrack of a rowdy roadhouse on a Saturday night. With nods to Pretenders, Patti Smith, Joan Jett and Patsy Cline, The Cobras add their own rockabilly twist and come up with an original sound that is new yet very familiar.

No doubt, where have they been? They were supposed to break out with White Stripes but have practically vanished. I'm anxious for the new CD.

I haven't heard the new LP but their first 2 albums and earlier singles were all covers of old Motown and soul classics, rocked up to the 9's. Good stuff.

I believe all of the songs on this CD are rockin' covers as well of 60's R&B, Motown, Soul etc.
