Strangely, I've never lost a tooth, but the casualty list is:

Broken nose x2
Broken cheekbone x2
Broken orbital bone (the bone your eye rests on in its socket)
Broken jaw

All puck related...(not a big visor guy I'm afraid)

Visor saves life... my roomate years ago lost his front tooth in a check, I guess his mouthpiece flew out!?

Seen fans get nailed with the puck inthe first 8 to 12 rows, they've lost teeth...[xx(]

Hopefully now that CBC paid big bucks for the TV contract, they'll have more say. These afternoon playoff games are absolute nonsense. And CBC has a new, better dude in charge of the sports department.

I find it amazing that the most exciting game live, doesn't translate onto tv for the casual fan. I agree maybe the slow incorporation of hd will help. I'd love to see Joe Thornton in the finals, just to stick it to Bruins management.

That's a really interesting point. I saw the Ducks game 2 at the Pond - super exciting. Replays afterward - boring. There's no scope to the action on TV. I wonder if they get corporate camera guys who are used to shooting basketball. Freaking pan out a little bit to catch the action away from the puck - there's no better in any other sport but this just doesn't translate to TV. HD just might help do this IF it's shot right.

It might be because the replays are not seen within the flow of the game. Replays are always boring; it's the action minus the live involvement. Can somebody explain the significance of the shift timer NBC keeps putting up? Do I really care if Sidney Crosby's shift was 12 seconds longer than Ovechkin's?
