New Wave Artists That Had Their Roots In Bubblegum

Ah great subject matter here.There were a ton of New Wave artists that I can think of offhand, that had their roots in Bubblegum Music.And here are some right off the bat.

Blondie-Sunday Girl is a perfect example of New Wave Bubblegum.
The Bangles-Pick any song basically.
The Go Go's-Again pick any song by them basically
The Katydids
Nick Lowe-There were quite a few o them by him,especially the ones about The Bay City Rollers.
The Ramones-Just about anything early by them was New Wave Bubblegum.
The Sex Pistols-The only song that I can think of by them that comes close was the song "Friggin'In The Riggin"
Adam Ant-Solowise no doubt he was.
Spandau Ballet.They had a few songs that were that I would put in that category,but not as a whole though.Songs such as "Lifeline" and Heaven Is A Secret" most definately.
Stephen "Tin Tin" Duffy-Well some of his hits like "Kiss Me" and Hold It were surely New Wave Bubblegum.
Josie Cotton-Pick any song from off of the first two albums by her.
Bucks Fizz-Anything by them just about was.
Dollar-Same for them too.
Limahl-"Never Ending Story" sure was very Bubblegummy for sure.
Ace Of Base-Just about all of their songs.
Bananarama-Early Bananarama most definately was.
Madness-Certain songs were such as "Our House" Keep Moving,and House Of Fun
Captain Sensible-Only his great cover of "Happy Talk" I would put in that category.
Wham! No doubt the last two albums were for sure.And those classic hits by far were.
Peter Schilling-He had quite a bit of songs that sounded more or less like New Wave Bubblegum crossovers.
Industry-Their biggest hit sure was "State Of the Nation" Along with some other songs from their one album.
Bow Wow Wow-Baby Oh,No,Do You Wanna Hold Me,and I Want Candy sure were,and so was Louis Quatorze.
Haysi Fantayzee-That whole album surely was.
The Kane Gang-Well all I can think of that was,was their hit "Motortown" and I love that song.
The Waitresses-Come on with songs like "I Know What Boys Like" and Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful, plus alot of other songs from off of the first two recordings they sure were.
Sparks-Well once they decided to get away from their Glam roots and went into a New Wave direction,they sure did have that sound to them,with songs like "Mickey Mouse: and Moustache,and a whole lot more.
The Dickies-Well certain songs by far were sure very Bubblegummy by them,songs such as "Stuck In A Pagoda" Rosemary,The Banana Splits Theme,Hair,etc.
Barnes And Barnes-Along with being part Novelty and part New Wave,alot of their songs were very Bubblegum.Songs like their most classic hit "Fishheads" is a perfect example.Pizza Face,Pineapple Princess,and a whole lot more by them.
Gleaming Spires-With songs like "Are You Ready for The Sex Girls,Big Surprise,and A Christian Girl's Problems,I would definately say that they were for sure.
Pat Wilson-The whole Bop Girl album was.
Cyndi Lauper-Just mainly early 80's Cyndi was.
The Shirts-Well after the first album being more of an underground style,anything after that most definately was.Blondie soundalikes too.
Julie Brown-Most of all her material seemed to be very Bubblegum.Songs like "Cause I'm A Blonde" was a New Wave Bubblegum crossover.
The Darling Buds-All I can remember is the Pop Said album and that was for sure.
The Flirts-Mostly anything by them was.
Men Without Hats-Pop Goes The World was more Bubblegummy for sure than Safety Dance was.And so was Moonbeam.
Mental As Anything-Quite a few of their songs were New Wave Bubblegum.As a whole no way Jose.
And last but not least,we have The Buggles.Both albums were more or less Bubblegum sounding.The first album being more Bubblegum sounding.
There are a ton more,but offhand I can't think of anymore.But in time I would be able to come up with some more names.Please add some more names here,if you can think of some more.Thank you.

XTC-Quite a few of their songs would fit into that category.
The Cars-It has been said that they were very much influenced by Bubblegum Music.I can see it only in a few of their songs.
