Alternate Versions not available on CD

Half the challenge of being a New Wave fan is finding that lost gem from your youth on CD. The bigger half of the challenge is persisting in that quest after finding the lost gem, only to discover that it's not the version with which you fell in love.

Anyone aware of a CD release of these alternate versions?

Soft Cell - "Tainted Love"/"Where Did Our Love Go" (Radio Edit)
Blancmange - "The Day Before You Came" (US LP Version)
Icehouse - "Taking the Town" (US Rock Radio Mix)
Squeeze - "Goodbye Girl" (from 6 Songs Squeezed onto a 10" Disc EP)
Danny Wilson - "Girl I Used to Know" (US 12" Promo Mix)
Sports - "Who Listens to the Radio" (US LP Version)
Members - "Working Girl" (US 12" Promo Mix)

I recently was able to remove the Knack - "Good Girls Don't" (7" Single Version) from my list, thanks to the 20 Greats from the Golden Decade of Power Pop collection.

Anyone else out there suffer from this affliction?

I'd like another reissue of the Re-Flex album with the 7" mix of "Hurt" on it - I have the 45, but it's full of snaps and pops, so I can never burn a "clean" version.

Rachel Sweet - "Cuckoo Clock" from the first UK pressing of "Fool Around." Future versions softened the harmonies.

It actually really bothers me when the "Radio Single" for a song is different from the album version. Usually because you get used to the radio version then you throw on the album and hear a different song than you were expecting.

This is definitly true of The Cars - Moving in Stereo and Icehouse - Electric Blue.

How many times did that happen with local acts? The band would release a single through a local label, it would get a ton of airplay, then they'd put a different version on their major label debut. The Nervous Eaters " Talk to Loretta" comes to mind.

dolby has said that there are some sort of releases coming from emi that he has been working on with them... archival releases? or maybe remasters? i know he is working on the videos on a dvd. anyway, he specifically mentioned this version of radio silence. i'd love it to be on something, and the rock version too.

the single version of "snowball" by devo is really different from the album, in that the levels of everything are different, there is more reverb on stuff, there is a different beat, and there are more synthetics piled on. the album version is better and simpler. however, it took 20+ years to get it on cd, so i wasn't complaining!

I don't think the original (and best) version of New Order's vinyl twelve-inch "Temptation" has ever been available on CD. The same may be true about "Blue Monday". Close....but not close enough.

Isn't Temptation available on the 81-82 EP?
Blue Monday is available on Substance, the Qwest PCL etc.
