Hurricane = rising gas prices

Did anyone else get the 20 cent a gallon price jump yesterday or today? It shot up to $3.09 here. All it takes is a hurricane to even come near the gulf now for the price to take off.

Hurricane, summer, terrorists, shark attacks, Britney's shaved head--all are causes for the sudden rise in gas prices.

There is some formula somewhere that explains why prices rise as drastically as they do--and as coincidentally and as suddenly as they do--but it hasn't made sense to me yet.

Charleston is still considered to have one of the cheapest gas prices in the nation. We are averaging between $2.55 to $2.60; however, in the news this morning we are being warned that prices will rise "dramatically" today.

I think I'll invest in a mule. It's environmentally safe, produces fertilizer for my garden, keeps the grass in my yard trim, and doesn't consume gasoline.

Dropped 5 cents a litre here overnight. I guess that's about 18 cents a U.S. gallon. Go figure.
