Leona could never be a segue... besides: "There just ain't no pleasing some people!" "That's just what Jesus said!" (Life of Brian)

This is sad :-(

Richard Jewell
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Jewell

Richard A. Jewell (December 17, 1962 – August 29, 2007) was a central figure of the Centennial Olympic Park bombing at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Jewell, working as a private security guard, discovered a pipe bomb, alerted police, and helped to evacuate the area before it exploded, saving many people from injury or potentially death. Initially hailed by the media as a hero, Jewell later was considered a suspect.

Despite having never been charged, he underwent what was considered by many to be a "trial by media" with great toll on his personal and professional life. Eventually he was exonerated completely: Eric Robert Rudolph was later found to have been the bomber.

Jewell suffered from diabetes, severe heart disease and kidney disease, which contributed to his death on August 29, 2007, from a heart attack, aged 44.

Thanks for bringing down an otherwise cheerful thread.
Ok, who dies next?

I always thought that someone should have been held accountable for the slander or libel that put him in that shadow. I hope he at the very least received some sort of monetary compensation for the hell they put him through on top of the hell he experienced form the horrific bombing. RIP [:(]

I didn't realize Brett Somers from Match Game fame passed on from stomach and colon cancer on the 15th she was 83. Still no winners can't believe this version has ran this long without one.

Randall's Merv prediction wasn't an official pick, he was just stating no one could pick Merv after I posted no one could have Tammy Faye because she was on deaths door.

Ironically, he spent much of his life pretending he was in a box, and now...
