Songs that had whistling in them

Postby glokstadt » Tue Aug 14, 2007 5:32 am

This came up in another thread for Peter, Bjorn and John...

http://www.nwoutpost.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=20140

Besides Panarama citing Peter Gabriel's "Games Without Frontiers;" what other songs had whistling in it, either as the lead melody, or in the background? Wall of Voodoo have one or more? I'm totally drawing a blank, and folks here will have at least half-a-dozen songs to list... man, Alzheimer's really sucks!

Was just listening to the (English) beat in the car, and their cover of Andy Williams' 1963 hit: Can't Get Used to Losing You. Lots of whistling in that tune! [8D]

Also not in a New Wave vein, but the remake of Al Green's "Rhymes" that Donald Fagen and Todd Rundgren did last year opens with some half-hearted whistling.
